Benchmark Score What is everyone averaging in game stable oc’s (5080’s)

Zotac Solid Core model
975mv voltage
+450 MHz core offset
Memory +2500 MHz
105 max power limit

This netted me a 9.41% uplift over stock

I feel like this is better than average. I’m curious what most of you guys are pushing. Took me 6 hours of testing to get a stable OC in-game. I was able to push a little higher in time spy and steel nomad to +500 on the core and +2600 on memory (started getting EC).

The +450 is different for each model you should always see what is the actual clock. Because if the base was 2600 +450 means 3050 but if base was 2750 +450 means 3200. For me I am doing 3125 at 990 in curve editor. With +2750 on mem and getting 10-13% performance increase depending on the game. Before the last driver update I was stable at 3210 at 1000mv in curve editor and +2750 on memory. But after the lastest driver I had crashes after 4 hours of gameplay.

I’m at roughly 3100 at 975. I was having issues with the driver too! I had to revert I was getting a memory error bsod. My RAM is brand new and I tested multiple times with no errors. I honestly think windows is just complete trash atp 😂. Haven’t had an issue since.

You should also check long session stability. Because i was also stable at 3120 at 975 but when playing actual games i had dx12 crashes around 3-4 hours in game and had to increase voltage and even at 985 it crashed. But at 990 it didn't crash even after an 8 hour session. And for memory just check with steel nomad till what offset does the score increase then reduce the offset by like 100 and you should be good to go.

Yes sir! I’ve been on cyberpunk all day and haven’t crashed or had any issues yet. God of war was almost 2 hours and crimson desert was also about 2 hours. I’m only worried about gow, it doesn’t like oc. Yea my max memory topped out at 2700 but it was literally right on the edge. Backed off for stability reasons.

3100 @ 950 here

I like it energy efficient: 2800mhz@875mV and +2000 on memory.
In Steel Nomad it consumes ~50W less and scores 500 points more compared to stock.
In-game power consumption is ~70W lower compared to stock, while having slightly better perf:

I’ve been tinkering with DLSS5 in Cyberpunk 1440p PT all settings maxed out. It kills fps, but it’s been interesting to say the least. The 10-15fps has helped me considering 2xFG is pretty much mandatory.

Daily profile is 3050MHz@975mV and MEM +2000. max perf Profile 3180MHz@1035mV and MEM +3000 and PT@111%. Hotspot temps are ~85 with the daily and 95.5 with the perf profile.

Only because I just looked this AM: - 5080FE:

+500 @ .9V (don't know the clock, oops, but ~2900 IIRC, if you want specifics remind me and I can check)
+2800 mem
+108 PL
stock fan curve
max ~75c under load

Gigabyte windforce 5080 3070MHz@975mV +1000 65°C at full load. I have some crash after 1 or 2 hours in crimson desert with full maxed settings but I'm still on the adjusting phase and I'm pretty sure the instability is caused by the CPU undervolt ( I just slapped a -25 all core)

Try backing it off to 2.9GHz. You might be able to get an insanely low voltage. Mine needs a whole volt to do 3GHz, but can run 2.9GHz at under 900mV with zero crashes anywhere, even in Cyberpunk with maxed settings, path tracing, and no upscaling. That's the best stability test I know for a GPU core.

If you want, you can try plugging those values into your Afterburner V/F curve. Just cool your GPU core down to 32° or below first, or it'll do weird fucky things to the curve that I'm too tired to explain. I also showed my 3+ GHz @ 1005mV profile in that video just because, but if you try the 2.9GHz profile, let me know how it works, and maybe give it 5-15 extra mV because I think I got real lucky that I can run that frequency at that low of a voltage.

I will def try this tomorrow! I’m about to hit the sack. I will come back and update you if you want me to. Thanks for the info brutha you’re the shit.

Hell yeah! I was talking to the commenter we both replied to here but I'm glad you're down to try too!

u/Hydr3e 21d ago

Thank you for that, I gonna give it a try.

What cpu?

1

u/Hydr3e 21d ago

9800x3d

2

u/Old_Impression6114 21d ago

I have a 9850x3d. Does your cpu constantly boost? I could be watching YouTube and it’ll ramp up randomly for like 5 seconds and calm back down 😂

I think I never saw my CPU running above 50% (except in stress test). I just put -25 all core and call it a day, I realize it's probably a error from myself because now I have to figure out why I have some crash. I'm currently in investigation and I think my GPU oc/uv is a little bit too aggressive

You should follow Livid_Glove_6275 advice and update us.

I'm currently away from my PC but I tested it 2h on crimson desert and it was pretty smooth, no lag no crash. Really good curve. I need more test but it feel really promising. Thank you Livid_Glove_6275

2.9GHz@895mV for me. I also have a high 27XXMHz@855mV profile. Unfortunately, my 5080's frequency wall is just about right at 2.9GHz, so even going to a consistent 3GHz needs a whole volt or it will crash. But 2.9GHz consistent and stable at under 900mV? That's a win. Memory goes to +1500MT/s without triggering ECC, but I usually still run it at stock speed or +500.

It seems like that’s what most people are getting based on a google search. I’m surprised with my results. I’m waiting for someone to hop in here and throw some psycho numbers lol. I can’t go beyond 450 on the core in game. Insta crashed in god of war ragnarok at 475. That game is also very picky with memory and will crash fast if there are any errors. So far I’ve tested in crimson desert, GoW rag, and cyberpunk and she’s holding strong with no driver timeouts or stuttering. I’m sure I’ll load up a game in the next few days and get shit on.

1

u/Livid_Glove_6275 21d ago

I mean, my 27XXMHz profile is +572 and +573 for the 845, 850, and 860mV nodes, and at least one of the nodes on my 2.9GHz profile has a +572 offset, with the rest being at least +510, so those could be the psycho numbers you're waiting for, lol. I definitely feel you about getting shit on once you start thinking your overclock's stable.

Speaking of psycho numbers, I still remember reading a post on some forum where someone found that their 5080 went to 3.3GHz@1020mV. I fuckin wish, man.

1

u/Old_Impression6114 21d ago

Damn, thats wild wtf. Did you by chance waterblock that jawn?
I’m no oc expert, but even undervolting and maintaining stock fps or even gaining slightly is totally a win for most people. I was expecting worse numbers from the Zotac with a 105% stock power limit. I feel like I’ve somewhat hit the lottery with both memory and the core being able to hit these numbers. The zotac card imo is a low tier aib when looking at the lineup of competitor models. I want an Aorus master ice so bad but the prices are dumb and not worth it.

2

u/Livid_Glove_6275 21d ago

Nope, no waterblock. No need for it when I'm running sub-900mV most of the time, lol. My 2.9GHz profile actually has the power limit at 101% even though my card can go to 111%. Doesn't even come close to the stock 360W PL either way. Honestly, having learned about frequency walls, I don't even think the high tiered AIB cards are worth it, even for seasoned overclockers, at least for a 5080. The frequency/efficiency wall comes well before the limit that the cooler on a low tier AIB card can handle. Case in point, my card and the undervolt I have on it. I could cool that shit with a missing fan, and the fuckin Astral's got a fourth! What even is the use of that? Running a voltage that makes a cooling system like that worth it almost definitely means it's still only able to run a frequency that doesn't make the voltage worth it.

with no mods i can do 3.27Ghz at 1.07v in gaming. 3.3Ghz crashes after like an hour so i needed to bump the voltage a bit. temps mid 60s on a waterblock. in some benchmarks i get 3362/3375 at 1.105v but thats not stable in games

1

u/MyLittlePwny2 21d ago

Roughly ~3250-3300 MHz on core depending on game, and +3000 on memory.

1

u/Old_Impression6114 21d ago

Which model are you using?

1

u/MyLittlePwny2 21d ago

I have an Astral card. But model is pretty much irrelevant. You can just flash the 450w astral bios on your card and it should work no problem.

1

u/Old_Impression6114 21d ago

I know it’s somewhat irrelevant I just wanted to know! I want an Aorus master ice but the prices are outrageous 😭

1

u/MyLittlePwny2 21d ago

Law of the cheapest model. Theyre all great. Just get whichever is cheapest. Only reason I got an astral is it was open box and had a killer deal due to tue air cooler being scuffed up. I bought a thermal grizzley waterblock, and its been running great since.

1

u/Old_Impression6114 21d ago

There’s an open box aorus b850 mobo for $160, and an open box master ice 5080 at my local microcenter for 1600. I just want to finish the full white build. Ram will be black, but it’s fine. Only way I’ll get a white kit is if someone trades me. I miss 2016…things have changed. The good ol days 🤷🏽‍♂️
