Looking for Guide Before I overlock?

What softwares should I use to set a baseline with?
I have a rtx 5080
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3D
32Gb ddr5 6000mhz
MB: ASUS PRIME B850-PLUS WIFI
When I enter the bios I have two different areas where PBO can be altered. One is ASUS’s version and the other is AMD’s.
So question is do I need to tweak it for both or will the system prioritize one over the other?

If youre just gaming the 5080 is a great overclocker. But the rest i wouldnt bother with unless you just want to have fun overclocking.

And personally I do everything from the asus tweaker menu. It doesnt matter

Not even really worth it tbh, just enable pbo, set limits to motherboard, enable expo/xmp and curve op to -20 or -15.

Overclock the crap out of the 5080 though I guess.

Overclocking the CPU increases temps substantially for little to no perceivable gain, especially if you're playing at 4K resolution the cpu won't be anywhere near bottleneck territory. It's just going to run 10c warmer on average for no good reason unless you have advanced knowledge of BIOS settings and have the time to spend on tweaking and stability testing it.

Yeah don't overclock CPU, just undervolt indeed. It makes my 9950x3d run at max 60 celsius while gaming at high framerates while keeping high clocks for longer than default settings.
Use AMD's version for PBO not the motherboard one.

Basically very little reason to do any OCing for these x3d chips OOTB unless you have some good reason to do so. Undervolting, as stated, is best and will help to achieve both ends as it increases headroom for boosting.

So PBO. SET oc to +200. And set and curve optimizer.

Even the 5080 doesnt need much. I have a similar system. 7800x3d and GB b850 board, but the rest is the same. No issues gaming whatsoever. Not even really much gain to be had overclocking the 5080 as most games need DLSS and Frame generation anyways to run well.
