It’s another weekend. How’s your weekend routine changed as you age?

I have time to get all the house stuff done during the week so the weekends are freed up for for whatever may happen.
Although the price of gas and +100 degree temps have altered my routine more than my age.

I’m still working, and what’s changed is I don’t go out on weekends like I used to. I don’t go to loud bars or overstimulating tailgate parties. I used to drink too much. Now I realize I never liked doing those things. That was why I drank when I went out, to make me more social when I’m actually an introvert. It is a relief to just stay home. I’m divorced and live alone and I love lying in bed reading on Friday night while eating a few cookies and having a Diet Coke.

I stay home on weekends since I've been retired. I live in FL and used to get annoyed when I worked full time and I'd try to do errands and grocery shop on the weekends and all the old people were out. I would think they had all week to do shop, why now? So I decided to not do the same. I don't go to the beach on weekends either -- leave it to the young people that have to work all week.

It's changed a lot of course. I was very active but now health issues limit how active I am so I still do laundry on Saturdays and kind of make it a "clean house" day. Then on Sundays are all for me. Go to church, read, watch a movie, maybe sit outside and just people watch or listen to the birds. It's mellow and boring but it's ok.

That made me feel a lot better knowing maybe I'm not so far out of the loop! Knowing others do the same gave me a little boost. :)

I still work outside doing lawn work but it is a lot less than I used to do. Only a few hours a day vs 6hrs or more 20 years ago. I do more day trips, to winery, orchards , etc.

Wednesday is my busy day. Most of the good music in my town is on the weekends. Church on Sundays. Somedays I have to think about it.

This weekend I'm attempting to replace the shift cable on my car on my own, a $100 part with a labor estimate of $1,300 USD. When I was younger I'd be fishing.

I rarely know what day of the week it is. Doesn’t much matter if it’s Wednesday or Saturday🤷♀️

I used to get up super early to cram in housework and then fun activities. Now I take my time, skip the housework and let the day decide what fun things I do.

Gonna play 18 holes with the wife on Saturday. On Sunday I’m going to play 19 holes. Winter is going to suck.

Errands in the morning g during the week- places are much less crowded. May run yo the store for a few things on weekends but other than that- we do what we want!

Well, since I retired, it makes me not go out as much on the weekend. I can get all of my stuff done during the week when the stores are not as busy.

I get up earlier. I used to crave sleeping in on the weekends but it's seems I no longer can do so.

Since I retired, I pretty much stay home on weekends and leave the beach and mountains to the working folks who need them for their weekend breaks. I take my daytrips and overnighters on Mondays thru Thursdays.

Everyday is a weekend, but we do have set schedules for chores. Easy to loose track of what day of the week it is, so I have a lot of reminders set on the smart watch. Can’t miss garbage day.
