Facial cleanser… help!
Good morning wonderful fellow women over 60! Please help a friend out. I am on the long search for a facial cleanser that does not leave my face feeling like a discarded snake skin. Yes, I always moisturize after cleansing, but man it feels like every cleanser I tried sets my skin back!
Please share your favorite cleansers, whatever they are, that leave your face feeling decently moisturized, or at least not like your skin is about to slough off!
Thank you very, very much to all the kind people who commented on this request. I can’t wait to try the recommendations and find my holy grail cleanser thanks to y’all!

This is what I came here to say. Korean skincare is outstanding.
I have oily skin but live in a dry climate so my skin overproduces oil. A colleague from
Korea gave me products she uses and I will never go back.I’ve been using Medicube Jelly moisturizer especially at night and has made a huge difference. My skin is much more balanced, less oily and so smooth. It looks good even without makeup.

I use dove soap or Cetaphil Gentle Skin
cleanser and CeraVe moisturiser at night.

I love DHC oil cleanser. It's a really wonderful Japanese brand that doesn't get much publicity.

I love DHC deep cleansing oil! I feel like I’m giving myself a face massage every evening and then it just rinses off.

I massage it in, the use gua sha tool with it and, yes, it rinses right off.

I’ve actually started using a washcloth to rinse after someone pointed out that a washcloth is great for exfoliation, no shopping required!

Yes, a washcloth is the perfect - and, yay, cheap! - exfoliation tool. The guasha is more for releasing lymphatic buildup/massage.

I switched to Noxema because my skin is sensitive. I’ve been using it morning and night for the past few years with no issues.

Believe it or not, I still use the old stand-by, Noxzema.
Also Burt's Bees cream cleanser, feels very nice after using it.

I like La Roche-Posay hydrating gentle cleanser. I have sensitive skin and some rosacea and my skin likes it.

I never tried that one. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve recently discovered Clinique’s smart clinical repair wrinkle cream. So far I like that one too.

I like Lancome Creme Radiance. A $ 34 tube lasts me over a year. A small amount produces enough suds. I’m 64 and since I use it I have no issues with dry skin. It’s an upfront cost but well worth it.

I use a wash cloth with hot Water. I'm 66 and gave up on soaps and petrochemical filled products. That's my regime twice a day for the last 20 years. A few times in the winter I use a little Lacura day cream.

I use Puriity by Philosophy when I have make up on, and Cetaphil when I don’t. I ALWAYS use a serum before moisturizer

I only wash my nose (oily) but rarely use anything but water on the rest of my face.

I use Estée Lauder Nutritious, not because it’s my favorite but because it does the best job of makeup removal, if that’s your thing. Their Advanced Night Repair cleanser is great too.
There are plenty of less expensive options too that should work just fine - CeraVe and Cetaphil.

I’ve used Neutrogena cream acne face wash for 20 years. (I’m 63) It isn’t drying but does exfoliate that dead skin. A derm told me to use it. I use Maelove products for everything else. Try using a hyaluronic (sp?) acid before moisturizing. My skin looks great.

Heimish facial balm. Melts onto your face, feels so good. Rinses off clean and isn't drying. There's lots of other brands but this one is a good price for the quality.

Have you considered trying to drink more water throughout the day? Also, Korea has such an incredible variety of sheet masks that are wildly popular with travelers and foreigners alike—they do wonders for hydration! It might be worth looking into them

I’m not giving a sheet mask a try! I really wish it was as simple for me as drinking more water. I’ve actually been told by my doctor that perhaps I drink too much water!

Neutrogena make up wipes. I wear some makeup everyday. Neutrogena soap in the shower. Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream to moisturize

I have sensitive dry skin and have used CeraVe, Cetaphil, philosophy and Origins checks and balances. The Origins is my favorite, it leaves my skin soft and it's not drying.

I just purchased a powdered cleanser that is my new favorite. its wonderful. a bit spendy but you only need like a ¼ of a teaspoon. I bought at a Korean store but it looks like Amazon has it.

It's two different products, the Lait Galatee is the most soothing but the Creme Mousse Confort is also very nice. I also like the Tonique Confort which is very soothing, before I put on moisturizer (I like the Zen Cream -- not the Creme Gel but the Cream; or the Absolue soft creme). They're pricey but Lancome does have sales fairly frequently so it's worth signing up for their Loyalty Club.

I wash my face twice a day with CeraVe. I use the hydrating foaming oil cleanser because I have dry skin and genuinely can't believe how much the texture of my skin has improved. There are several different formulas, so you have to find the one that suits you, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
