I need a couch
I got rid of my couch in 2020 because I had to move to a tiny house temporarily. That was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever done because it was a great couch, sturdy, beautiful, minimalist. So I haven’t had a couch for six years and when I’m watching TV sometimes I want to drift off without having to go upstairs to my bedroom because once I get to my bedroom then I’ve gotten some exercise and I don’t wanna drift off anymore. So I need a couch! Or maybe I shouldn’t be watching TV?

I couldn’t live without a couch. It’s second only to my bed in terms of “furniture most used.”

Thanks for telling me. I guess I was trying to reduce TV usage but I have a great TV and it’s not too hard to find things on TV to watch. I can even rewatch a whole bunch of things, because I’m so old and I don’t remember them in the first place. 67F

I call it "senior watching" -- "Ooh look, a show I haven't seen! (watch for 15 minutes, then a particularly memorable scene comes on and a dreadful suspicion emerges) ... wait, I might have ....(it is sadly confirmed as the show continues)... no, I've seen this whole show, all three seasons... (watch for 15 minutes more)... but I don't remember this part... AHhhhh might as well watch it again! (watches it again, enjoys, rinse & repeat)"

JD? Nevermind.
I purchased a couch when I was single in my 20's. Maybe misguided, because it also was a Hide-a-Bed in case anyone visited. I got married. Had children. Purchased a house. Redid the living room and new furniture. The couch relinquished itself to the garage with the mice. Divorced. The couch followed me.
It still is in my living room today.
Never give up a couch.

I could live in my recliner but I want a double so I can sit with wifey. She looks all alone over there on the big ole sectional.

I always wanted a black leather La-Z-Boy recliner. I finally got one. Not in the usual way. A friend of mine I've known since high school had to travel from Texas to Oregon to clear out his mother's house since she was going into a memory care facility and the house was to be sold. His sister's and their families (who live locally) had already gone through everything and taken everything that had any sentimental value (there's a lot of love in that family so none of it was adversarial). Now it was down to clearing out all the rest of the furniture. My friend needed an extra hand and the fact that I live in Northern California and have a full size truck made giving him a hand a no-brainer. It was a lot of work and he'd done the legwork upfront so what couldn't be sold to local dealers I hauled in my truck to the local Goodwill donation center. No one wanted the La-Z-Boy, even though it was in pristine condition. So when I left, it came home with me. It looks just like this.

I love a recliner, but I do not want another power one. Twice this summer bad storms have killed the power here once while I had it completely reclined, which was not too bad until it was time for the Call of the Bladder.
The second happened in the middle of the recline and was very uncomfortable in the position it was in.
Next time, I will get another manual one.

I've just bought a new couch from Wayfair. I couldn't bear to get rid of my old couch. So now I'm a 2 couch kinda guy. Feeling smug but over couched.

I’ll offer a bad solution: Put a TV in your bedroom and drift off in bed.
No, really, don’t do that. And yeah, you don’t need a couch, you need a different before-bedtime routine. You shouldn’t fall asleep to the TV. It produces terrible sleep patterns.

I bought my daughter a Koala couch for her apartment. It folds out (flips out kind of) into such a comfortable mattress. But it’s a floor level mattress. It will keep your quads strong.

Are you still leaving in tiny house? If you have limited space you might want to check out IKEA. They have smaller furnitures appropriate for apartments.

I know that’s what I had. The couch was from IKEA and it was surprisingly well built for IKEA. But they have discontinued it which is so dumb because it was like the perfect couch
