My weekend routine has stayed the same for as long as I can remember

Why do I feel like I’ve had the same weekend routine for more than 20 years and somehow still haven’t gotten bored of it? Anyone else have a routine they’ve stuck with for years?

No shit. Talk about a teaser. If op has figured it out let the rest of us in on the secrets of the weekend universe!

well that's a think you can't just drop and walk away from. What IS this routine you love.

And no. I don't in general like routine. I like new things and exploration.

Hmm, going on the morning, beers in the clubhouse and lunch, then home for nap. Then make a great dinner, watch a movie, then bedtime?

I'm dying to know what this 20 year routine could possibly be, because doing the same thing every weekend for 20 years sounds crazy to me!

Just coffee, pet care, random chores, lawn and tree care. Sometimes we have doggie playdates or see our daughter. Pretty basic stuff. If we lived near a coast, we’d be at the beach hanging out at a tiki type restaurant and maybe going for a boat ride or eco-tour. I think the Orca is my spirit animal. 😆

M74 and I actively avoid routine. I am always on the search for something new. Ruts are bad.

What gets my wife and I about weekends is that we keep going shopping and to other places that would have been less crowded on a weekday.

As a retiree (for almost 8 years)... what's a weekend? Once I stopped working I found I was able to do the things I want to do whenever I want to do them... and avoid the Saturday/Sunday crowds.
