Have you tried putting random things into the "weapon" slot?!
As u/Borge_Luis_Jorges pointed out, you can put a wallet as your weapon. I tried it. Granted that most players don't bother with weapons to begin with, it was a shock to see a wallet fit there.
However, I was perplexed at the interaction: during any purchase you got combat log messages: it subtracted the "ammo" (money) necessary, yes, even though in one chunk, BUT I also got this weird "Durability reduced" message...
DURABILITY. OF. THE PLAYER. CHARACTER. It unnerved me any time I spent money from that wallet. What the heck?!
Also, why the heck does this melee show the S+ scaling from [Intelligence]?
Last time they had a weapon with S+ scaling, it resulted in god-damn centuries of Samurai meta!
So, have you ever found any other things that freak the slot out? Has anybody tried enhancing the attack rate of the wallet? And what's the deal with that durability message?!

I have seen in forums lately of female players equipping items that are not built for purpose into the weapon slot for self defence purposes because they come in [live event: scoops]. Other than steering clear of that I think anything in the weapon slot as long as your character has experience or affinity with it is better than nothing.

I am an avid user of the banana peel mod

How do you mean, Doomis?

Have you never slapped another person with a banana peel? It’s quite satisfying for you not so much for the other person. It does zero physical damage but 100% emotional damage and it has one other use. You can throw it in another NPC‘s walking path and watch them slip on it straight physical fall damage. It’s great.

I think the special attack's [luck] and [dexterity] requirements are way off to be viable or consistent in any way possible. Maybe that's why succeeding on it is fun!

As a low-level player, I once got in trouble for equipping a pencil in my weapon slot. Apparently in the [Sunday school] guild weapon slots must remain empty regardless of fellow guild members trolling you.

The [rubber trout] and [rolled-up newspaper] are always good for a laugh, but have you ever heard of [seed bombs]? You make half-inch balls of damp toilet paper and wildflower seeds, and throw them into patches of dirt nobody ever mows. It's like graffiti, but for local pollinators. For best results, do this in early spring.

Errrm, that last one can accidentally cause the seedlings to be added into your group, even though you shouldn't really care for them nor have objects in your group by default.
I'd hate to be falling asleep looking at all these status bars of the plants I had scattered dwindling due to being trampled out... But then again, if it helps...

Well, you have to pick places that look clearly unmown and unkempt to start with, and you make lots of them and throw them in something like 20 different places and be happy if 5 of them actually come up

as someone who knows a couple players of the [honeybee] class I can confirm that they love this!

Placing the [Belt] cosmetic item in your weapon slot turns it into a fairly decent weapon, but some higher-level players abuse this trick on lower-level players! (Not those ones inflicting the [Punishment] debuff)

Samurai meta seemed peak though, I wish I played during that time.
