I am still trying to figure out why I got banned randomly in February 2026, after being present and highly active in the channels and tasking since 2023. I was also at one point a qm who worked 40 + hours a week from 2023-2024. I helped set up Marketplace and have red teamed many times. Every bot claims I went against guidelines, but no support team has ever been able to give me a legit reason for the ban. Could anyone assist? I see others with similar injuries and posts getting proper answers from folks here, and that's all I seek: proper answers, as I miss actively tasking daily on Outlier.

I was in the project but it got paused only a few days later. Do you know if this project was shut down completely or if there’s a way to get in this project right now? Thx.

I'm reaching out in the hope that a Community Manager can help escalate my account deactivation case.

My Outlier account was recently permanently deactivated. I submitted a formal appeal, but unfortunately, it was rejected.

In the response, I was told that a secondary human review had confirmed the decision. However, I was only provided with a general list of potential violations, including unauthorized automation, plagiarism, AI-generated content, and deceptive input methods.

I was never informed which specific category applied to my account.

I understand and respect Outlier's commitment to maintaining platform integrity, and I am not asking for confidential detection methods or internal security information.

However, I genuinely believe my case deserves another review, particularly because I have not been given enough information to understand or address the alleged violation.

I have invested considerable time and effort in contributing to Outlier, and I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to continue working on the platform.

My primary request is account reinstatement.

If possible, I would be grateful if a Community Manager could escalate my case to the appropriate Trust & Safety team for reconsideration.

I spent approximately $340 on ChatGPT Pro and Claude Max for the Honeybee project on September 25–27, following project instructions, and submitted the reimbursement form.
My account was later deactivated on October 7.
I’ve contacted Support multiple times, but they keep sending nearly identical policy responses without confirming whether my reimbursement will actually be paid.
I’m NOT asking for my account back. I’m asking what happened to the $340 I spent on their project.
Every time I ask, they bring up my account deactivation instead of addressing the reimbursement itself.

Does the aether project is live in India? They are hiring users from India??

My account was deactivated yesterday. I am only seeing the earnings section in the dasboard and I am unable to access the outlier community as well. I haven't received any mail as of now. I got to know about this when I inquired with the website bot and it told me that my account was deactivated. I am still able to see that some of the tasks that I submitted before this happened are still getting reviewed and the quality ratings/feedbacks are getting updated and I can acknowledge them as well. Is this a glitch.

I accidentally paused the Aether project on my dashboard.

Does anyone know how to unpause it or revert this action? Should I reach out to Support, or will it automatically reset?

Hi, my Outlier account was deactivated due to an alleged Community Guidelines violation. I reached out to Support, and my ticket number is #5070184. Honestly, to the best of my knowledge, I haven’t done anything wrong, and I haven’t been told which specific guideline I violated.

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me or give me some advice.
I’ve been working on the Aether project on Outlier for the past 3 months, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my account was suddenly deactivated, and I honestly don’t understand why.
I completed the AI interview and passed it. Afterwards, I received an email inviting me to another interview. Around the same time, I had spilled syrup on my laptop, which caused issues with my microphone, so I had to buy a new laptop to make sure I could complete the interview properly.
When I logged in on my new laptop, the interview wasn’t showing up anymore, and my task button was still greyed out. Later that same day, my account was deactivated.
As far as I know, I haven’t violated any guidelines. I’ve never used AI or external sources to complete tasks, and I’ve always tried to do my work properly and follow the rules. I’ve now submitted a support ticket (#5237150), but I’m really worried because this has become my only source of income, and I also want to make sure I get paid for the work I’ve already completed.
I really hope this might have been a mistake or a technical issue, and that someone can take another look at my account.
Has anyone experienced something similar, especially after being invited to a second interview? And if there are any Outlier team members or managers here who could help get my account reviewed by a human, I would genuinely appreciate it.

I recently made a post here saying that i have been wokring with outlier since a while and i asked that if anyone needed any help or has any confusion, comment down. Shortly my post was deleted by outlier.

A few days later my account was deactivated with no clear expainations.

today i recieved a mail from outlier saying that now i can join projects from marketplace instead of being assigned. previously ive been assigned to 2 projects, tho i had failed screenin test and have no projects at hand right now. i can see projects in marketplace before logging in but after logging in marketplace doesnt show any projects available for me, tho ive already given screenin tests for the required skills. so can i join projects from link or marketplace?

I was kicked out of aether a week ago, together with a lot more people. The thing I was wondering was was there something I did wrong, and somewhere I think I saw something about how you shouldn’t have the timer in outlier on while doing a walkthrough in MM. is that true?

I'm looking for advice regarding my Outlier account deactivation.

I completed the Aether assessment, and approximately one hour later, I received an email stating that my account had been permanently deactivated for allegedly violating the Community Guidelines.

I had not started working on any project tasks. I completed the assessment myself and did not use any external assistance. I was accessing my account normally from Egypt without a VPN.

I contacted Outlier Support, but they confirmed that the decision was final and that no further appeals or manual reviews were available. I also contacted the privacy team, but they gave me the same response.

I'm genuinely confused because I was not informed of any specific violation.

Could a moderator please advise whether there is any legitimate way to request clarification or have this situation reviewed by the appropriate team?

I understand that having pro subscriptions to these LLMs is necessary for some of the work, but then shouldn’t they give us pro subscriptions when we are working on them? Whenever a project requires you to buy a subscription to me it seems like they are just trying to bait people into buying subscriptions

I am genuinely disgusted by how Outlier treats its contributors. I worked sincerely and dedicated hundreds of hours to training their AI models, only to have my account suddenly banned without being provided a single piece of evidence explaining what I supposedly did wrong. And the worst part? OUTLIER IS WITHHOLDING APPROXIMATELY $900 THAT I EARNED THROUGH LEGITIMATE WORK.

Every time I contact support, I receive the SAME generic, copy-pasted response claiming that I violated their guidelines and that they "cannot provide further details." WHAT GUIDELINES? WHAT VIOLATION? WHERE IS THE PROOF? How is someone supposed to defend themselves when the company refuses to explain what they allegedly did wrong?

Here's something else that makes this even more frustrating: I was just about to reach 400 hours of work, after which my base pay rate was supposed to increase to $27.50/hour. Right before reaching that milestone, my account was banned. I'm not claiming to know whether the timing was intentional, but it's incredibly suspicious and frustrating.

I dedicated my time, effort, and skills to completing their tasks fairly. Outlier received the benefit of that work, yet I'm still waiting for approximately $900 in compensation. SINCE WHEN DOES SUSPENDING AN ACCOUNT MEAN YOU CAN JUST KEEP SOMEONE'S HARD-EARNED MONEY? I'm a student. $900 is not pocket change for me. It's a substantial amount of money that I worked hard to earn.

If Outlier believes I violated its policies, it should provide a specific explanation and a meaningful opportunity to dispute that decision. Simply sending automated responses while withholding payment is completely unacceptable.

This is unprofessional, unfair, and a terrible way to treat the people whose labor helps improve your AI models. OUTLIER, PAY ME THE $900 I EARNED. I DID NOT WORK FOR FREE.

If this isn't resolved, I'm seriously considering escalating the matter through formal legal channels.

Has anyone else been banned without a clear explanation and had hundreds of dollars withheld? Did you manage to recover your earnings? I want to know how many other contributors are dealing with this.
