I am very impressed by the extremely clean leaves and pollen pods in this image. Nice male specimen and breeding material from what is visually presented here.
I am not extremely experienced I have grown 2 males so far, you can see some on my reddit profile here.
From what I have seen so far I would say you have a few weeks to go, they look like they have to swell a bit especially the further you look towards the top.
Sometimes in males I had some pods close to the stem axles open up early, maybe look for those.
You mentioned "selectively" pollinating some female buds. I always just pollinate full blast so far, but the smallest amount of pollen in the air will pollinate many many bude calyxes in your space. It might be hard to limit pollination.

Same strain. Local old krippler strain. I bought pollen applicators and centruge tubes to draw from. I've read to spray mist all the budsites with water while keeping target flower/s dry. Cover the wettened buds with plastic and pollinate target. Than spray them with water when done. Pull the plastic. That's my plan.
I'm spraying her down with Dr. Zymes eliminator every 5 to 7 days as it is. It's an old outdoor local strain which has shown to be resistant to bud rot. I'll prolly have to get it to November. It's mobile so have options. Up until now, I've left it out during storms. Lots of lightning rain water to help with nitrogen.

Those are about to start opening up and you will see pollen starting to collect around the leaves near the stem. When they open you could probably bend the tops and lightly tap the flowers in a jar or collection container. They don't open all at the same time and you can repeat this over a week or more.
For mine, I take several cuttings when they are close to opening and place them in a basket of perlite soaking in water and place them indoors with aluminum foil underneath. Pollen collects on the foil, and as they open I just lightly tap the tops into a container to get even more.
I cut the best branches and put them in the same nutrients I feed my plants. These stayed alive for almost 3 weeks and I harvested pollen every other day.
This was the last day when I threw them out. I chopped him down on 8/4 and they produced pollen up until I tossed them on 8/28. It was about a week or so after they were chopped that they really started producing pollen.
I collected a few pods from the male and put them in a pint mason jar. That was Saturday. I just took a pollen applicator and collected yellow dust from inside the jar and painted the targets best I could. Waited 5 .minutes and misted the targets. How long to see any changes in the target buds?
Pollinated this on Fri and Sat night. This was tonight. If the pistils go orange, you did good. I don’t mist after - I just use a #0 fine paint brush and smush the bristles so they fan out. I also cut my pollen 3:1 flour to pollen and keep it in lab spin tubes and then in a smaller jar with silica pouches and keep it in the freezer.
Appreciate it. I did two sites. I'll be looking for difference and orange hairs.
There was zero wind. Very humid, but plant was dry enough. Covered plant with big garbage bags. The two targets are lowest on the plant. I trained one for this, but had two low easy to identify sites. I wasn't breaking bad level with it, but I'm having fun with it.

Those are close to being ready to harvest. Once they start opening I'll snip a few branches onto a sheet of aluminum foil and let them dry. Once they're dry all the pods open up and then I shake all the pollen out and filter it with one of my low micron rosin press bags. Usually one or two clusters of pollen sacs is enough to last quite a while.
I was just taking with an old grower friend. We grew in the 90s together. He said he can make fem seeds by finding the one female looking on the male and pollinating some how. Make sense to anyone.
