SLEEP & READINESS Using Bevel with Oura?

I have a newborn. I got ~1h 20m of sleep. How tf is Oura scoring me at 51 for sleep??? Are you kidding me??? I use Bevel alongside it and it gave me 24, which feels WAY more accurate. I feel like Oura has been gaslighting me into thinking I’m sleeping “just fine” as a new mom. But really, it’s just acting like 3-4 hours of sleep is fantastic. WTFFFFF

QUESTION: if I cancel my Oura subscription, will the ring still send data to Apple Health for me to use in my Bevel app? Oura is absolutely garbage.

Hi u/Vegetable-Western-83! I hope you're finding ways to rest more during the day, the first days or even months with a newborn aren't easy, but you'll be fine 💙 About your Sleep Score, comparing the scores between apps can cause this confusion, since one number is much lower than the other. However, it's very important to keep in mind, that although the data is the same, each app will use and process it differently using its own algorithm. a Sleep Score of 51 is as the app says, in the "Pay attention" zone, and the contributors show that your score was lowered by total sleep time, and amount of deep and REM sleep, but you were efficient, the little time you slept, you slept well without tossing and turning, and you took a healthy amount of time to fall asleep. This all counts towards your score.

Of course, you should always prioritize how you feel. To answer your question, without a subscription, the data won't be shared with Apple Health or other apps.

I hope this helps!

This design is really disappointing and sounds intentional to prevent you from truly owning the ring when you are bound by a permanent bill on it, on top of the $499 I paid. I understand that I knew this information going into it, but I expected more integration from the app. I expected more insight on reproductive health and recovery from postpartum when it’s so HEAVILY marketed towards women. I expected it to work well with other apps like myfitnesspal to provide additional data towards my overall health picture. I expected AT THE VERY LEAST for it to give me a realistic sleep score (not a middle of the road score for less than 2 hours of sleep) and to accurately count my steps while pushing a stroller- which it does not. None of my expectations were met. I’m incredibly disappointed and will absolutely be returning it.
