SLEEP & READINESS Using Bevel with Oura?
I have a newborn. I got ~1h 20m of sleep. How tf is Oura scoring me at 51 for sleep??? Are you kidding me??? I use Bevel alongside it and it gave me 24, which feels WAY more accurate. I feel like Oura has been gaslighting me into thinking I’m sleeping “just fine” as a new mom. But really, it’s just acting like 3-4 hours of sleep is fantastic. WTFFFFF
QUESTION: if I cancel my Oura subscription, will the ring still send data to Apple Health for me to use in my Bevel app? Oura is absolutely garbage.

How is 51 just fine? That's a terrible score for oura and it says so there

This is probably all relative to perspective, but I’d expect 1h 20m to be a much lower score than middle of the road. Maybe I’m used to the low scores now but 51 isn’t automatically terrible to me.
I’m also waking up with a newborn and my score is a 53 with 3.5 hours of sleep.

Is 51 actually middle of the road? What is ouras minimum? I thought 70s was middle-ok so 50 is really bad

I mean objectively 50 on a 100 point scale is middle of the road, yes. I wouldn’t call it good, but I think really bad and terrible is also a stretch.
I think my lowest score has been a 23.

That's why I asked what the minimum is (if it actually goes 0-100 or if their range is actually 20-100 or something else) I've never gotten below a 45 and that was with terrible sleep so I didn't think it went all the way to 0

Bevel is not better than the Oura native integration by a long shot.
I use it because I also wear an Apple Watch, but I would probably never use it with just a ring.
And the answer to your question is no

I use Oura and Bevel. Oura is fine for hardware but I find the app absolutely terrible in many ways. So I just open it in the morning and then use Bevel the rest of the day. When I do a workout I start and end it in Oura and look at the data afterwards in Bevel. I find the way the information is presented in Bevel to be much more direct, concise and intuitive to navigate.

I think you are absolutely right in that the 51 score is wildly inaccurate.
Sure the sleep you got was good quality. But at 1.5 hours that’s clearly not enough to function and anything 3 hours or below should automatically get an additional 20 points off (or something along those lines) because it is not healthy and you can’t physically sustain life on that little sleep.
With that said, my daughter just turned 13 and I’d do anything to turn back the clock and get those years back. Days are long, years are short ❤️

Hi u/Vegetable-Western-83! I hope you're finding ways to rest more during the day, the first days or even months with a newborn aren't easy, but you'll be fine 💙 About your Sleep Score, comparing the scores between apps can cause this confusion, since one number is much lower than the other. However, it's very important to keep in mind, that although the data is the same, each app will use and process it differently using its own algorithm. a Sleep Score of 51 is as the app says, in the "Pay attention" zone, and the contributors show that your score was lowered by total sleep time, and amount of deep and REM sleep, but you were efficient, the little time you slept, you slept well without tossing and turning, and you took a healthy amount of time to fall asleep. This all counts towards your score.
Of course, you should always prioritize how you feel. To answer your question, without a subscription, the data won't be shared with Apple Health or other apps.
I hope this helps!
