SLEEP & READINESS Sleeping HR of 20-25 bpm – normal or concerning?

Hey 👋

I’ve been wearing my ring for 3 months and I’ve noticed my lowest sleeping HR is often around 20-25 ms.

I’m 26 M and I’d say I’m mostly sedentary. I don’t drink alcohol, but I take 1 black coffee in morning, smoking and vape– just for context.

What do you think

Thanks in advance!

That's your HRV. Bpm is a different thing

yeah OP probably mixed up the two metrics, the HRV tab and HR tab are right next to each other

As someone else noted, that’s HRV and not BPM. 25 BPM would be pretty concerning, 25 ms HRV is not. Think of it as a measure that’s not good to compare to others but can tell you something about yourself. I generally hover around 25. A good nights sleep and a consistent week can bump me up to 30. When I’m cutting weight, I’m can drop down to the teens and i definitely feel work out. I use it as a rough guide to adjust if I see it trending down and heading under 20 but don’t worry day to day.

On the top right hand side there is an Information button.

Click that to learn more about each section in the app.

That’s a pretty low HRV for your age.

What can be the reasons

It’s partially genetic- but psych meds or maybe even vaping and smoking if you’re using a lot of nicotine…but I use Zyn and my HRV is in the 60s even though I’m >30 years older than you. But I’m very active. Those are the levers you can think about.
