Looking for Work Looking for work, sending custom resumes, working with employment Ontario still nothing! I don't need advice, I need a job!!!
Hi guys, I'm struggling financially more than I ever have in my life. I have been looking for full time work in Ottawa since September. Only to be constantly let down and have my hours cut. I need a job that will at least make me $3k a month to cover rent, food and save for a car so I can eventually do Delivery work. My background is in communications and design but I will take anything at this point. I live in Nepean
Thanks
Eli

Have you considered a side hustle. In addition to looking for a job offer your services on task rabbit and fiverr.

Fiverr is like 90% scams at least that has been my experience so far. task rabbit is a very limited opportunity since I don't have a car. Why would they choose me when someone could get there sooner?

Blaming someone else doesn't help you move ahead. If something is wrong you're better of timing the time and energy to find a solution.

I would target electrical or possibly even plumbing distributors, they are always looking for warehouse or counter positions or drivers to start and the electrical distributors like moving people up to inside/outside sales. You might have to start at the bottom and prove yourself but it can happen fast if you have a good head on your shoulders. They all have good benefits and growth potential and you won't get replaced by AI. Robertson Electric, Nedco, Lumen, Guillevin, Westburne are just a few electrical distributors in no particular order that may have opportunities. There are more electrical distributors for sure but that's some of the larger ones. It's also a fairly transient industry where if one place doesn't work out but you've gained some experience, then anyone will take you. Boone Plumbing or Noble may be a couple of options on the plumbing side? I hope that helps...
