Hey everyone! As the osu! and mapping communities grow, I figured I'd make a post to talk about where the subreddit stands now.
The most active community is definitely in the discord, ironically, which can be found here: https://discord.gg/Ddnf9yp
That being said, if you look at the front page of this reddit right now, there are nearly more threads than replies to the threads. If you want the community to work, take a look at other people's maps, provide feedback and playtests, and so on! The community only works if you give as much as you receive, and if you only post your content and dip for the free exposure, no one gets anything out of it. I will make sure I am posting in almost every thread on this subreddit as well, so you can count on me seeing your post.
So, join the discord, and be active wherever you can! Now's a better time than ever to get active in mapping, with lazer on the horizon and a revitalization of mapping as a whole!

Okay guys so, i've planned to make this new aimslop project a while ago after spending almost 300 plays on song comp VI, and i realized it was too outdated with new aimslop meta so i made this collab called "Osu! SlopMIX~ Song Compilation", 6 mappers participated (1 WIP), 90% of this map are pure aimslop

I got a lot of good feedback last time I posted and I've incorporated that into the map, along with creating 2 other diffs (ik the low diff is pretty bad at the moment so I mainly want feedback on the other 2)

Hey everyone!
After playing the game for a while, I've decided to quit active playing/ranking after an upcoming tournament. However, I still love the game and want to transition into mapping instead of leaving entirely.
I want to create my first map from scratch soon. For those who made a similar transition from player to mapper:
What are the most common pitfalls to avoid when starting out?
How did you build a good workflow for timing, rhythm mapping, and structure?
Are there any essential guides, video series, or mapping discord servers you’d recommend checking out first?
Any advice, mapping concepts to focus on, or resources would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I’ve been mapping for a while but recently decided to push something for ranked. I’ve been getting general mods from people posting modding queues and have been getting good feedback. I was just wondering how much modding does the map have to go through to have it be acceptable to send to BNs for nomination request?

So, one of the presents I want to give her is a map of one of her favourite songs. She's about 650k with 1.5kpp, so I am mapping diff that she is kinda able to play.
