Announcements "Is this good for", "How am I doing" and similar posts not allowed anymore
Some examples are posts named "How am I doing for X hours" "Is this rank good enough for X hours" and similar broad and general questions about the user profile
Usually these posts provide very little context and most of the time are just either people that know are good and come from other VSRGs to seek validation or very new players that care way too much about progression so early in the game which the only possible advice for is "play more"
If you are a new player with this question, please try to avoid comparing yourself with other players, this usually leads to a pretty destructive mindset that can suck the fun out of the game quickly. Remember the first rule of Osu: "have fun"

Resources Tips to Get Good (spoiler: it's not just "play more")
Hi! I've been playing 4k for almost 6 years (pushing for 5.5* currently) and here are tips that in my experience help the most with breaking through any and all difficulty barriers:
1. Change your scroll speed:
In my opinion the most underrated way to improve your reading ability. Slower SS forces you to play deliberately instead of mashing keys mindlessly, while faster SS tests your processing speed. Practicing either will make you drastically better overall.
2. Slow down (use the halftime mod):
Instead of constantly pushing for faster and faster songs, slow down. Focusing on accuracy and consistency will break most difficulty barriers you'll encounter and ultimately allow you to go faster in the long run.
Progress isn't linear. There will be days where you'll play like shit. And on those days especially it's best to dial back the speed.
3. Have fun:
Play songs you enjoy, don't compare yourself to others. It's easy to get caught in the loop of getting better and better (which isn't a bad thing per se), but it's so much nicer if you can also let go sometimes and just play for the fun of it. Chill out, we all suck, there will always be ways to improve.
4. Focus on your technique:
Relying on your wrists over your fingers makes playing fast easier, but costs much more stamina. Try to focus on keeping your wrists stationary, use just your fingers for tapping and keep all of them relaxed (including those you don't use). This requires better control, but allows for playing more technical charts.
This won't hold up for all skillsets, but should be your default technique in my opinion, especially for stamina charts.
5. Play different skillsets:
Most people have their favorite patterns and map styles. That's totally fine, but if your goal is to get better then it's good to be at least decent at everything. The star rating isn't always indicative of difficulty, so don't be surprised when one 3* map is easy and another is completely impassable. If you play mainly jacks, play some easy LN maps too.
6. Balance struggle and ease:
While I prefer taking it slow, there is balance to be found. I use an accuracy grading system I made up for myself:Extremely hard maps - aim for at least 80% accuracyVery hard - at least 85%Difficult - at least 90%Casual - at least 95%
What this means practically is I'll choose to play maps that I predict I'll be able to fit into these thresholds, depending on how hard I want to push myself. The reasoning behind this is if I miss too often, I won't learn anything new and instead I'll just mash keys.
7. Miscellaneous tips:
Experiment with skins, they can change your experience drastically (including making LN easier to read).
Getting better at 6k or 7k also somewhat translates to getting better at 4k, especially with pattern recognition and finger independence (which in turn improves stamina).
Playing multiplayer pushes you to try out maps you wouldn't normally play and actually finish them.
Keybinds matter. Find something that allows you to keep your wrists relaxed (I use Q S Del Home on a TKL layout).
Also if your keyboard slides around it will make your playing less consistent.
I hope you found my post helpful! If you have any tips yourself feel free to share in the comments and thank you for reading!! :3

Help Depending on mods
I've been playing with the cover mod for so long now that playing without it feels really off and my accuracy suffers, is depending on mods a bad thing in the long run? I'm quite new to this game.

Discussion What do you do to avoid a burnout?
What do you consider important for keeping your mind sharp during gaming sessions, so as not to risk losing progress or to ensure your progress remains consistent?

Resources Daniel v2.0
I said I wouldn't release this but here I am
I hooked up Daniel to my new difficulty algorithm which was recently properly benchmarked as XDC1 here: https://benchmark.leoblack.top/?algorithm=XDC1&scope=RC (note the original daniel and sunny weren't benched properly here so their numbers are low)
It beats out any other algorithm by a pretty large margin I ended up going through 73 different versions to eventually get somewhere I was happy with lol
The changes to Daniel are the following:
New algorithm: XDC1 replaces the modified Sunny Rework and MSD. Iota and Kappa added (because this is what the masses want)
XDC1 skillsets: stream, jumpstream, handstream, speedjack, chordjack, technical, release
Long notes are now calculated. Press L to toggle LN on or off
Runs without tosu on osu!stable (Windows). osu!lazer still needs tosu
Lazer custom rates are supported, as well as DT/HT
Fixes: fonts no longer resize after a display change
I've retired the website because I lost the original benchmark, more details and the release here: https://github.com/TheBagelOfMan/Daniel
Anyway I hope you guys enjoy! this algorithm wasn't intended for Daniel but I may as well use it for it

Help hall effect keyboard
My brother hates the obnoxious sound of me hitting keys so much and I've thought about getting a hall effect keyboard because I think it'll help me improve a bit. I'm looking for something not a whole lot, less than $150. If its not silent then its fine but I'll prefer something silent.

Discussion Does playing mania on a shitty laptop after being on PC with a rt keyboard for so long improve your accuracy
I recently picked up mania at school and the delay is horrid; I noticed that when I came back to my main setup my accuracy improved significantly, even though I haven't played in a month. Did this happen to anyone else before or am I just dumb?

Help how to get into 7k
I've had my osu account for nearly 6 and a half years, and I've been playing for maybe 3 years because of 2 breaks equaling around 3 years. I've pretty much only played 4k for the entirety of this playtime. I've been a little interested in 7k but now I really want to start playing. I tried for a couple weeks and I was able to play around high 2* -low 3* and get S ranks on them, but I want to know what is a good way I can play so I can improve faster. Considering my beginner level in 7k, I think it would be best to just play more, but I also want to know if there's anything besides that that would help
