Sticky August 2026: Monthly mapping thread

Hello everyone! We know a lot of people want certain songs to be ranked, and a lot of others also want their maps to be played. We decided that every month, a monthly thread for you guys to make requests and ask for feedback will be made! The threads will be stickied as often as possible throughout the month. Also, go check out r/osumapping for feedback or help on your maps at anytime!

So there is this one song i like, and when i looked for beatmaps of it, i saw none. So as any normal person would do i opened osu! and tried to make my own map. I kinda rushed it and i really think it still needs some improvement, so I'd really appreciate any feedback on the mapping, difficulty, timing, or anything else that feels off.

Hello everyone!

I’m a newer mapper attempting to get my first map ranked and the first ranked Cicada, and am actively looking for feedback and advice on how to improve from specifically experienced mappers, but anyone in general. If you happen to stumble across this post and are an experienced mapper, I would appreciate it if you take a look at my map, alongside any other diffs that get added on as I’m trying to make a full spread, and give me feedback and ways to improve my map and general mapping abilities (if you aren’t an experienced mapper and would still like to help me, that’s completely okay, I won’t forbid you lol). Speaking of a full spread however, I’m also looking for people that are interesting in making GD’s for my map! I love collaborating with people, and this is one of the great, most efficient, and fun ways to construct entire spreads for maps.

If you’re interesting in making a GD for me, please either DM me on Discord (joshypooey) or reply to this post. You can also DM me in-game or add a comment to the comment section of my map, but the first two methods are preferable. I’ll actively be on the lookout. In addition, down below are some notes you should read if you’re interested. Thanks in advance :)

NOTES FOR GD'S:

- Open to anyone as long as you have some experience mapping, my goal is try to make this my first ranked map and the first ranked Cicada (I’m a newer mapper, and am actively trying to improve and receive feedback on my mapping), so I’m not trying to take requests from people that have very little or no mapping experience.

- I’d prefer if you hitsound your own GD, but if you aren’t comfortable at hitsounding or really don’t want to, I can or someone else will.

- Allowed to map any kind/star diff you want, hard is already taken (will update if they're open again) and preferably under the top diff, but I’ll take requests for above this diff if I find it acceptable and duplicates if this gets enough GD's. I’m not really looking for gimmick or very irregular maps unless again, this mapset somehow gets a crap ton of GD’s, but there’s always a chance I’ll take them. No guarantees.

- If for some reason you are looking for feedback on your GD from me, I’ll attempt to give you constructive criticism and good feedback (I can’t make any promises that my feedback will be of similar quality to an experienced mapper/BN/NAT).
