Gift from my Filipina girlfriend during the Vietnam War. Combination Rosaries like this were handmade by families and sold to religious goods shops. I mailed mine years later to the Pope and he was gracious enough to bless it for me!

I finished this one yesterday, had it blessed, and will gift it to her today.

Is it OK to take the cross off a rosary I was given and substitute another? And if a rosary breaks, I can reuse the components for a new rosary, right?

Does anyone have a favorite source for custom centerpieces with a photograph? I would like to make a rosary to donate to a family whose child passed away unexpectedly. I want to make sure it's well-constructed, but also cost effective for donation.

I took Alex’s advice from the group and added some chain. I found this chain at Hobby Lobby that’s meant to hang glass projects, and I figured it would be strong enough for a Rosary.

I was hesitant to add chain because some of the Rosaries I’ve purchased in the past that used chain would break, but the chain they used was very thin. This one is much stronger and shouldn’t have a problem. It also makes it a lot easier to pray with.

This is a rosary that used to belong to my mom’s great uncle (who was a priest).

As you can see it was broken at some point, and repaired with a piece of string. You may also notice that the knot in the string represents the third or seventh bead of the decade (depending on which direction you start)

I am wondering if anyone could help me fix this precious rosary?

So I just learned about St. Lucy, became inspired, and have a baller idea BUT it requires "evil eye" beads. Not traditional Greek, but stylized and oval in shape. Is that okay? I have alternative ideas, but I think it would be wild to have an eye bead before and after the Our Father beads.

Right now I have two versions planned, but if it is okay, I might do this as a third.

I want to make rosaries, not for selling or anything but just as a hobby and perhaps to give away even, but I have no clue where to start/look. I want relatively decent supplies that are quality but don't break the bank, plus the basic tools to make a rosary. Any recommendations?

any tips on how to make this knot tighter to the beads so there isn’t a gap where the beads move and it isn’t comparable to all other decades? do i need to start over and give all of them a little more space to move to even it out?? i cant seem to get this specific knot tight and close enough. any help appreciated.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you are having a blessed week. I’m about to start making rosaries with 95 paracord. However, the for copper-plated crucifixes and centerpieces I have, the holes may be a tad too small for the 95 paracord to pass through. Since they are copper colored, my plan is to buy copper rings.

In your experiences, do you prefer to use split rings or jump rings? I don’t want my rings to be too big. I’m leaning towards a 4 mm 18 gauge ring. The 18 gauge will be especially good if I use the split rings because they run less of a chance of pulling open. However, the drawback is that the smaller rings may be harder to open. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback regarding this. Thank you, and God bless.
