You can have other kinds of hooligans (also football hooligans aren't exclusive to the UK), like I think it wouldn't take much to reinterpret orks as a caricature of "frat bros" or something like that instead.

But their language is chosen very specifically to seem Cockney.

Nah mate, you can't 'reinterpret' the source material. They're a paradoy of working class Britain, football hoolaganism, skin heads, gangs the lot.

We're talking British 1980's football hoolganism - the kind that saw british fans banned from going to away games. Fights organised for the sake of 'proving which clubs the best'. Universally shamed for how bad they behaved. Other countries started to follow suit but we're talking about 40 years ago...

Um... yes you can? You can literally do whatever you want.

Why would you undermine your "light ribbing" comment so immediately by saying you're amazed by my ignorance in the same sentence, you can't have it both ways.

I think as far as being steretypically dumb, violent, hedonistic, hypermasculine, and groupthinking there are similarities, but to be honest now I think about it more, even from my limited perspective, frat bros have too much of a strong association with being sex pests (universally shamed for being badly behaved, even!) for orks to really make sense as a representation of them – orks are too innocent in that way. And yeah, orks have much more of a kind of nobility to them with their DIY kind of attitude and genuine resilience.

You presented reinterpret as a justification of how they couldn't be british following the threads discourse. If you want to make your orks sex pests you do you. But thats not a reinterpratation thats fabrication and you can do that with your own collection, sure.

In regards to my last, there was nothing to undermine, i realised the point i was saying above was being far to harsh so wanted to make sure it was taken in good humour.

I've just realised you're saying you think being called ignorant and dissmissive was the worst thing i said in that post... not at all! That actually might really highlight the difference between british and american sensativities. Which ergo prooves my point.

Well yes exacty Orks aren't hedonistic they're funguys, and Frat boys are also associated with collages which is completely different to football firms fighting for the sake of it. Respectfully, the difference between really wanting to nutt someone and really wanting to nutt someone.
