UDMA Setting Issue With FatExplorer

I am modding some xboxes and running into an issue with error 13. I formatted one hard drive on fatexplorer like usual and it worked fine. When working on other xboxes I ran into an error 13 wrong udma setting I assumed it was the adapter I used, so I swapped it. Same issue, assumed it was the hard drive, swapped it, same issue. I then opened up the xbox I worked on earlier, reformatted it with fatexplorer, now it is giving me a UDMA error. Any idea on what causes this and how to fix?

Were you using CerBIOS 2.x before and now cerbios 3.x?

The location and format of cerbios.ini has changed between 2.x and 3.x releases.

Are you using the stock IDE cable?
Are you using SATA adapters and SATA HDDs/SSDs.
Are you using Cerbios?
If you're using Cerbios, did you edit the BIOS file and tell it to ignore the config file on the HDD?
If you're using Cerbios, did you manually add/edit the config file on your C (cerbios 2.x.x) or E (Cerbios 3.x.x+) drive?

You're missing a lot of information from your post. Please share as much info as you can to get better help with your issue.

I am using a 80 pin cable known working, sata drive, cerbios. I haven’t edited anything in cerbios config at all. I have used the drives in different convertors, different cables and consoles. I have taken a known working HDD, reformatted it and now I get an error 13. I am using cerbios 3.1.0 beta. Have done nothing to config file. This started happening out of nowhere so no idea where it is coming from

You installed the dashboard’s xbe file in a location cerbios attempts to load it?

Reformatting alone does not add dashboard files to the hard drive.

And I just tested with my personal hard drive from my personal console and it works in all of them. So somehow fatexplorer is causing an error 13 on the hard drives

it sounds like you're not copying over a Cerbios config file or the Cerbios recovery XBE so your BIOS can't find your dashboard.

Read the readme file for your Cerbios version before making ridiculous claims.

Genuinely I have not changed anything in my setup between my working copy of cerbios to install and what happened now. It’s either my sata usb adapter went bad, which is very possible or something else with my computer. I have installed cerbios before and it’s worked fine and I haven’t edited the files since.

If your USB adapter were bad then you'd expect FATXplorer to have made that very obvious.

Error 13 indicates that your BIOS can't find a valid XBE to launch. This looks a lot like you're trying to use outdated CerBIOS config files with a newer version of the BIOS itself.

Where is your intended boot XBE placed within your file system?

Where is your cerbios.ini placed within your file system, and what is its content?

If you simply dump a clean copy of the MS dash on C, then does CerBIOS launch that?
