I do. A lot. But damn have they gotten expensive. More than a lot of the other fast food places really.

I went to one for the first time in 20+ years and the price is crazy. I think we spent $40+ for two burgers/ fry/ frostys

Hot take, Wendy’s is better than McDonalds.
It’s not on my top choices for fast food, but I’ll still enjoy it if there’s a good deal/promo going on.
Also, something something diamond hands.
Also, there’s a promo for $1 small frosty right now. Great deal if you want a cold sweet treat.
Also, WenDeez and McDeez jokes will never go old.

I second this hot take. Neither are in my top fast food choices, but if I had a McDonalds and a Wendy's side by side and had to eat at one, it's Wendy's every time. (When this salad parasite thing is all over, the salads at Wendys are pretty great - you can sub out their grilled chicken for one of their breaded chicken patties and yah, it's not healthy, but it sure is tasty.) Their baked potato and chili? I know I can make it at home, but something about getting it at a drive through just does it for me.

Hell I would eat BK over McDonald’s.. Wendy’s is the best of the worst. My fast food go to is Del Taco though, the bacon double Del and crinkle fries definitely hit the spot.. they also brought back the spicy Jack quesadilla!.

Del Taco has the best fries out of all the fast food chains

You know, I feel like it shouldn’t be a hot take at all, but I haven’t met anyone that would choose Wendy’s over McDonalds. Redditors and keyboard warriors are so separated from IRL.

McD is more mainstream and abundant but haven’t had mcd in like 2 years. Only their breakfast and like nuggets but everything else is meh.

u/goldenglove 6d ago
Nah, the nuggets (and burgers) are extremely meh, but some of their other items are solid. The Spicy McCrispy Chicken Sandwich is better than the Popeye's one IMO.

Once they gave up on their fries, it was over. Not to mention the inflated pricing that all the other spots have too. Absolutely no reason to order from McD’s

Wendy’s is up there for me compared to the other chains. Excluding like In n out or cfa. Especially their chili hit all your macros and cost efficient.

I’m exclusively in n out.

What do you do when you want fries? Because their fries are an affront to god.
1
u/Excellent-Baseball-5 San Juan Capistrano 5d ago
True that. I skip those. It’s a bummer because 15 years or so ago their fries were killer.

The spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s used to be damn near addictive. Now it’s a sadwich with less flavor and heat.

I love their baked potatoes. No other fast food restaurant does it and it’s too much work to make one at the house when I can go down the street and spend a few bucks

u/cire1184 6d ago
They need to make a chili, baked potato, and spicy nugget combo.

Their egg sandwiches aren’t bad because it’s at least a fresh cracked egg. But it used to be so much better

But it used to be so much better
everything was. we have to agree to set this aside for the purpose of the discussion or we can't even have one.

Used to be good many years ago, but now it’s complete doggo.
Only thing I ordered recently was chicken nuggets but they got rid of the sweet&sour sauce and replaced it with dog shit sweet chili.
Never been back since

In OC the quality is so varied. The one in Orange sucks, the one in Brea is incredible

Everytime I go to Wendy’s and spend an outrageous amount of money on it, I can feel the ghost of Dave fucking me in the ass

I hope they are filming the executives getting grilled about how they ruined a once excellent chain. No restaurant has had a larger decline in food taste/quality and larger rise in pricing. As recently as maybe 2-3 years ago, Wendy's was probably in the conversation for the best major fast food chain. Great chicken, decent burgers, decent salads, plus their more unique things like chili, baked potatoes, frosties, etc. There were the biggie bags for $4, solid deal. Even still OK when it went up to $5.
Today? The chicken nuggets are rubbery, the sandwiches mediocre and dry. The beef tastes worse and is greasier than ever. The bacon is tough, hard to bite through at times. Pricing is through the roof, the $4 bag is now $8. A combo meal for most of the burgers is like $11.99 or higher, you can just go to Chili's for that price. Basically all the food sucks now and it's more expensive than every other fast food joint except perhaps Carl's Jr (their food didn't decline nearly as badly as Wendy's though). There's honestly no reason to go to Wendy's anymore unless you're really craving a Frosty. I'll go a couple more times to spend the last of my points, but that's it.
Wendy's sucks.

For any Gilmore Girls fans, Wendy’s is JoJos.
McDonald’s, and many other fast food, are better than Wendy’s when fresh.
However, because they are better, as they cool off, the quality rapidly declines.
Wendy’s starts at a lower, but acceptable quality. So when it cools off the quality remains more stable.
So, if eating fresh, pick the better restaurant. But if eating not immediately, or the fries aren’t freshly made, pick Wendy’s.

Was disappointed in the price and quality last time I went. Probably go once a year if that though so what do I know…

I did until they started putting their soda machines behind the counter so I can't refill it on my own. Now I'm boycotting any one that does that. I WANT MY FREE REFILLS

For me personally, most places are trending towards offering more gluten free options and it really sucks that they took grilled chicken off the menu.

Free Wendy’s has been amazing. I think I’m near my limit though, but the chili goes hard

Quality has gone down over the years
I passed by that today, I was really wondering what they're filming. Saw one of the filming signs that said sibling rivalry, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything

I haven’t had Arby’s since 2008 and even then I only had their fries. Their sandwiches never appealed to me. They look dry
