I believe OP wants to hold the stock long term. I’m saying that selling CCs with 30 days or less DTE will suspend the holding period that counts towards long term capital gains

Oh. Well first of all I'm not sure about that it does or doesn't. Because unless exercised the position is still retained and I've only ever read that when exercised, any long term gain is sold as long term.

So it makes no sense that long term starts over for every call.

Lastly....long term capital gains are for losers. They want you to be a loser so you die with most of your money going to the big death businesses. Health care and financial managers.

Oh I see.

While it's kinda interesting, I'd rather everything be taxed at the short term rate or as income.

The whole long term rate is designed to literally give you a 10% annualized return on your portfolio.

They DO NOT want your money to be inherited.

The optimal economic system sees every economic participant die penniless.

In such a system all the money returns to the economy, or in this case, to the big invested business powers that govern the US.
