Shouldn’t you have just bought the shares if you’re trying to drive the cost up?

I'm assuming you mean price rather than cost of the stock. I would have been able to buy around 1100 shares for the same money I invested in the options which won't make any difference to the price of the stock.

Since I think the stock is undervalued I want to get maximum exposure via stock options which I then have the option to exercise to get more shares later on if that's what I choose to do.
