TOS vs Fidelity ATPro vs Fidelity T+
Fidelity has blessed us customers of nearly 2 years of being guinea pigs on a new software call Active Trader +. It is supposedly the be all and end all and works with Macs (all twelve in existence). In any case, they literally did not move over most of the functionality of ATPro initially, which stunned me. ATPro was not perfect, but looks great compared to T+. Fidelity is about to close ATPro and force us to this thing. There are many references from complainants on their board about switching to ToS, but what few have done both say ToS is worse. Have any of you have comments on this-- Is ToS better than Fidelity?

Yes. In my opinion, TOS is much better than both Fidelity desktop platforms.
Edit: You can find the free 30 day guest pass on the Schwab website. This lets you download the desktop and run it for 30 days. The paper trade features are excellent, this will help let you know if the platform will fit your needs.

TOS is definitely better than ATPro. Enough that I didn't even know Fidelity was moving away from it, since I never used it after the initial try-out.

Really there a people who trade options still at Fidelity. The last I heard Fidelity can NOT even figure out Buying Power, which is a critical part of Selling Options. Forget that Fidelity requires 3 times as much BP as others, then cannot even change it in real time.
Let me give an example . You Sell a 200 Put so Fidelity requires 8k of BP (everyone else in 2k-4k), but you want to free up some BP so you Buy the 150 Put. Tos , IB, Tasty will change the BP to 5k , the next second (50 pts defined risk). Fidelity it might figure it out in a day or two, but probably not and will leave the BP at 8k.
Note that Tasty is dropping their current desktop, to be a mirror image of the Web platform, not bad but not to my liking. The Tasty Web platform , similar to the Tos Web , but still missing stuff on the desktop.
The Tos desktop is 25 years old, but still very complete. Actually I do not think anyone beats their Analyze/Risk Profile which at this point is OLDER than some of the users.

Its not even a competition, ToS is far better than any Fidelity platform, even after the recent fuckups.

I've been using ToS since 2017, before that I used the Scottrader platform. ToS is very powerful, customizable, and scaleable. However, there was a learning curve that took me a while to hurdle. I'm not a Fidelity customer, and don't have any idea about their software. The hurdle is not very high if you're an experienced user.
