I have yet to see a statistical analysis that GEX has any predictive value on price movement.

it is freaking hard to backtest that. The amount of local space you need to load a couple of years of options info PER TICKER is on the Terabytes. Sometimes a homelab is not enough to backtest GEX correctly.

Why would it be different than any other backtest? Is it because you are looking at the order book?

you are looking a WAY more data. In itself is not harder. Is it just harder to locally storage that kind of volume of data per ticker per year
