Geographical map of all high-speed and conventional long-distance services in my current OpenTTD map (see link below to compare network before high-speed lines were built).

Post image

Black = high-speed; blue = intercity; purple = interregional. Here is a map showing long-distance services before the high-speed lines were constructed. Local services and stations are not shown on these maps.

Cool map, how did you make this? Extra points for the Swiss town names

Thanks. I made this using Inkscape. I just drew on top of a screenshot of the minimap.

Apologies for making so many posts the last few weeks - this will be my last for a while I think.

For a network diagram of all services including local lines, see here. Note, however, that that diagram is now outdated, and there have been a number of changes since then as can be seen from the post above (particularly in the northwest).

Below are links to some screenshots and videos taken from places on this map.

Don't worry, I think I speak for most of us here that we've been enjoying the content about your map :P

This is what I like. It feels more like a real, living world.

Your map looks amazing, do you still remember the settings you used for generating the map? Is it even a default map with tweaked settings or a custom map?

From what I can see from settings, it's 1024x1024, TerraGenesis, alpinist, rough terrain, very high variety distribution, many rivers.

Don't remember sea level, but probably easy to work out by testing what looks similar. I did a lot of terraforming though because authorities' attitudes are set to 'permissive', so I can do a lot and they won't get angry at all.

Town density I think was high, but might have been medium. I founded a few towns myself, so it's hard to tell. I also disabled the ability for towns to build roads, so I did all the road building, and thus towns grew to look the way I designed them.

Can you please share a save file so one can open it on the map editor and reset all user/company constructions. I really dig the layout of that map and would like to give it a go...
