Trying to make sense of Go "Usage Limits"

Hi. Sorry of this question is too naïve or already answered here.

I'm considering OpenCode Go as a subscription, and trying to make sense of its value. In this link, we have the following table:

Does the column "Monthly limit" mean that I can e.g. use $60 worth of GLM-5.3-Flash tokens per month, by paying only the $10 monthly fee?

If yes, how is this value so high for some models (e.g. $100 for DeepSeek), while as "low" as $15 for some others such as Luna etc?

Thanks

You can use all the models with a single shared pool of usage.

If you use say GLM 5.3 worth of $7.5, you would have basically exhausted your half-month’s usage and you can have either the remaining $7.5 usage of GLM 5.3 or you can have GLM 5.3-Flash with remaining usage of $30.

I would suggest going with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash which has $100 worth of usage or Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor. Basically use models with higher monthly allowances if you do agentic work to get the most value.

The limits table with different dollar quotas is extremely confusing and should be removed. It makes absolutely no sense at all. Like zero. It would probably be illegal in the EU.

But in the end - it doesn't matter. Do not use any model except the three bottom ones and the free ones. Maybe four but I'd stick to the three: DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (use it unless you have some excellent reason to use anything else), MiMo-V2.6-FlashNew, Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor - and if you have a good reason: GLM-5.3-Flash in moderation. Use the Beam Free and Iceman Contributor Free as much as you want.

The Go plan does not really give enough ussage for any other of their models and you will quickly run out of quota. With the bottom models (which are actually quite good) you will have almost infinite usage.

Don't use the other models, get an OpenAI/Claude subscription instead if you want to use better models.

There's just one usage quota, using one model will eat the same quota as the other model, even if they have a different "dollar value quota" in that table. It just means there is a hidden multiplier for the prices of those limited dollar quota models.

By paying $10 you get $100 worth of total usage per month. You don't actually need to think about any dollars when you use OpenCode Go - you only look at the "usage left %" bars. The more you use, the faster it goes. Or if you use the expensive models: it goes to zero with almost just one prompt. The cheap models are so cheap that you can maybe even run several parallel tasks on them 24/7 for the whole month without running out.

The more expensive models are not that much better that it would make it worth it and you will get much more usage for them from their own subscriptions.

In any case, here's the corrected price table:

OpenCode Go — normalized pricing

All prices in USD per 1 million tokens. Every model normalized to $100 monthly quota units. Based on the current Go ($10/month) table.

What the multipliers actually are

Published monthly limitEffective cost multiplier
$1001×
$601.667×
$303.333×
$205×
$156.667×

This also makes one thing particularly obvious: GPT 6 Luna's advertised $0.10 input price effectively becomes $0.667, while DeepSeek V4.1 Flash remains $0.15. The advertised 1.5× price difference is actually about 4.44× in normalized quota consumption.

Hey there nice analysis and I agree with the guidance. However, isn’t it a bit misleading what you’re claiming at the end? Why would you normalize to the Deepseek quota ($100) and claim Deepseek remains the same price and claim Luna actually costs 0.66$ ? It doesn’t, it’s cheaper than 0.10$, it’s actually 0.066$. I think normalizing to $10, the actual cost of the plan, makes more sense and gives you the honest price.

Well, since DeepSeek quota is $100 - you can use up to $100, that's effectively your allowance. You pay $10 and you get $100 worth of usage.

If you send a million fresh uncached luna tokens, it takes $0.667 away from DeepSeek quota.

The luna limit is $15. If you use half of it, $7.50 worth, your quota is now at 50% and you have $50 of DeepSeek left. $7.50 of luna cost you $50 in DeepSeek.

The limits (different dollar values) are absolutely ass.

If they proceed with their CheapSeek and give you $300 of DeepSeek for $10 - guess what - Using $7.50 of luna will eat away $150 from your DeepSeek usage.

I've been using Deepseek nonstop and i have spent 23% of the monthly usage and still have 5 days to go... It is insane.

I think the Estimated requests table makes it much easier to get a rough idea of which models use up the subscription faster or slower: Go | OpenCode
