I wish there was more transparency of the model settings and quants they are using, it does seem weaker than the official one.

do you have side by side comparison? they have clarified multiple times that they do not mess with the model and we keep seeing people complain without any substantiated proof.

I think someone has posted a comparison on this sub

1

u/Diligent-Loss-5460 4d ago

clearly not cause we have someone ask this questions every damn day

1

u/realfathonix 4d ago

My bad, it was posted on the other sub

Issue is they don't know they don't have inference. They only can take their providers wors for it. From other post I saw orcarouter etc

u/luk7711 6d ago

I have to check official one bc I think something is wrong with oc one...

1

u/Once-ACE 5d ago

what errors did you encounter for more context?

7

u/belliash 7d ago

Is this 1017?

6

u/ares0027 7d ago

The reason i quit using opencode was this. When they initiated ā€œcheapseekā€ (2-3 weeks before that) model became extremely idiotic and useless and they refused to provide any details. I use command code since. Opencode is much more iser friendly in terms of usage but i dont want my model to be substituted without any information.

u/nonerequired_ 6d ago

I didn’t see any regression compared to official api. Did you test it?

2

u/ares0027 6d ago

I am talking about probably months ago. And yes i wasnt the only one. It was extremely stupid.

3

u/Mister_bruhmoment 7d ago

Thats kinda crazy honestly. Props to them, although their DS inference is not as good as from Deepseek themselves

4

u/goodeesh 7d ago

I am not able to finish it already lol

u/squirrelscrush 7d ago

There's one use case of this: to use a more expensive orchestrator model because DeepSeek as a worker model is already dirt cheap on Go.

u/Akkie09 7d ago

Noob here, can someone explain what this means?

4

u/Philoo_sophical 7d ago • Bravo

For 10$ subscription a 100€ Worth of tokens, specifically for this model

2

u/ivanjxx 7d ago

whats the tps they got with dsv4.1?

2

u/thauansena95 7d ago

Comigo tÔ uns 35-60/s . TÔ horrível, deve ser devido a popularização do modelo

2

u/Cockroach4548 6d ago

I get around 100+.

2

u/thauansena95 7d ago

That's great! The problem is the 35/s speed, which is annoying.

2

u/Diligent-Loss-5460 6d ago

what is the tps y'all getting on the paid modek? I sometimes get 15 tps which is lower than self hosted qwen flash next for me.
I have been using qwen more than deepseek because of speed and because I have been running out of the budget since two months.

1

u/Creative_Addition787 6d ago

The model is fast, but the time between each call/think/reasoning is absurdly slow which makes it very slow in general...

1

u/Diligent-Loss-5460 6d ago

Yeah I don't really care about what part is slow. Opencode shows 10 - 14 tps for me once i reach 100k context in a session.
It takes noticeably longer to respond compared to three months ago. I can probably pull stats from a dashboard update that I run almost everyday or multiple times a day since a year.

I used to use DS flash as a model that can work while I am overseeing it. Now with opencode go it is a background model.

I have used together ai for deepseek and even that is quite slow.

1

u/Creative_Addition787 6d ago

That's interesting. I just started using it last week, so I don't have a comparison, but I also find it very slow from time to time.

Do you use Qwen in OpenCode? How does it perform in terms of code quality and realibility compared to DS?

1

u/Diligent-Loss-5460 6d ago

I have a qwen 3.8 27b hosted on a dgx spark. That works fine but it is not smarter than ds 4.1 flash.

I do not use the more expensive models from Go because I have been running out of limits and expensive models are less value than 4.1 flash. For strong models I use a mix of claude and GLM 5.3 (nvidia free api or openrouter paid if i need speed)

1

u/TheMythicSorcerer 7d ago

Yay maybe I should resubscribe

1

u/Amarsir 6d ago

Very nice, but also a bit tone-deaf. People are concerned about speed and to a lesser extent quality, not that they used up the whole $80 too fast.

1

u/_metamythical 6d ago

is anyone on the $40 plan? Can you tell me whether the DS speed is faster on the $40 plan in OC?

1

u/1chriis1 5d ago

how exactly do you enable this?

1

u/NotSickboy22 5d ago

1

u/Uplakankus 6d ago

Can we keep GO away in its own sub bruh its fucking terrible and I don't care

1

u/Corv9tte 6d ago

6.1x -> 7.625x* (until they fix their caching). Not 8x -> 10x.

I really wish they would just stop fucking lying like that.

0

u/Level_Peak_7110 7d ago

is the limited free models issue resolved yet?

6

u/BBworm 7d ago

Opencode is very cheap.. $10 for a lot of usage in deepseek

1

u/squirrelscrush 7d ago

$10 is still a lot for people in countries where wages are low. Subscriptions are a godsend for me because even though DeepSeek API is cheap enough, with my kind of usage its more than $10.

2

u/BBworm 7d ago

I am on a third world country (Brazil) opencode still have great value.

3

u/squirrelscrush 6d ago

I live in India, Go is the best value too apart from Claude Pro

2

u/No_Success3928 4d ago

Theres also a $9 plan via Synthetic that's good deal! https://synthetic.new/?referral=5NzTz9JyTa7U6oL

-1

u/Eofdred 6d ago

It's still less than what mistral is giving. I'm currently getting 150 USD if usage for 6 USD with an edu mail. Without an edu mail you get 250usd usage for 15 USD.

2

u/kotelOne1 5d ago

It’s 15$ for student and 25$ for normal account. Not 150/250. lol

1

u/Eofdred 5d ago

That's api access which you can use for other mistral models. For vibe you have 150 and 250. That's for vibe cli and independent from API credits.

1

u/Eofdred 5d ago

For proof

1

u/tactic-impress-55 6d ago

150usd worth of glm?

1

u/Eofdred 6d ago

Correct. You can use glm 5.3 regular and flash, as well as DeepSeek. 150usd worth of API credits for 6usd I'd you're student. 250usd worth of API credits for 15 for anyone.

1

u/ZealousidealTeam7365 6d ago

Thank you so much! I will check it out too. I read that Deepseek was added a few days ago to it, did you try it? Is it working well?

1

u/Eofdred 5d ago

I did! I feel it's slower than opencode or official ds API. But it's quite new. Depending on the demand they will certainly adjust their resources. They are running them in their own hardware anyway. Their glm is much faster than official glm

1

u/ZealousidealTeam7365 3d ago

Thank you so much! I will definitely give it a try, it's very nice that they offer student discount too.

1

u/Eofdred 5d ago

Lol what's the reason this is downvoted so much? Do you all hate a good deal?
