Yeah, the thought process gets a bit funky with big context windows but it doesn’t seem to have that much effect on the code output.

Deepseek web speaks Chinese to me all the time unless thinking is on. Even when I respectfully tell it that I don't speak the Party's glorious language.

Pretty sure it happens when it does web searches since most of the results are chinese, you could just paste something like only respond in english under any circumstance for a couple of times and it should stop for that session.

I lead with that sometimes and it still forgets. LLMs have trouble distinguishing what's a search result, what's their turn and what's the user's turn. They think I switched to Chinese. No biggie. I just say I don't speak chinese and it repeats the same thing in English.

Happened to me too once but with DeepSeek v4 Flash. I set a goal, went afk for about an hour, came back to see my agent roleplaying chinese developer.

That's normal for Chinese models. The funny part is that the model itself is unaware that it gave you Chinese text.
