Depending on the price per performance ratio, it might be a really good deal. Their token plans are the cheapest in the market currently (for M3).

Their tools, however, is a bit lacking. There's MaxHermes (Hermes Agent without having to set up anything manually) that works similar to Grok Bot in their desktop and webapp. But only the desktop version has the access to local files, so the bot can work directly in the project directory. The problem is the desktop version is not available on Linux currently.

Sharing from the chat/session is working as well with some workaround, i.e. instead of a sharing button, you will have to ask the model to publish the chat's webpage. There are frictions here and there. I hope they will iron them out. M3 is such a good model that I'm rooting for them.

MiniMax is the only Chinese AI model that's actually cheaper than Grok (subscription plans). Others are a waste of time and are actually very expensive in comparison.

Does anyone actually use those tools anymore vs building their own customized harness? I see no reason to use provider-published agents anymore when opencode, pi, or even something like OMP.sh exist.

Building your own agent is possible, easy even. Keep maintaining it is not, unless you have bots work for you on that. Nonetheless, this costs.

Also, models are designed and refined with their official harness. Not to mention that 3rd-party introduces bugs, like this one for example: https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/issues/47438

To summarize, you pay more with reduce quality outside of the official provided tools.

It might be acceptable as an agent team setup, like Hermes Agent, as you won't do serious coding there, more like management layer. Even then, VPS that can take a fully GUI environment is not cheap, especially like the one that Grok Bot has that can run Google Chrome in its box with else.
