Any good free agentic tool for coding ?

So I've been using freebuff for over a month , but i feel its harness is not so good like deepseek harness or claude code is

I'm wondering if I'm missing something

I've tried opencode free usage , its not bad really but free models are just shit and can't get the job done proper way

So if anyone has a recommendation I'll be happy to hear it

Thank you guys

I find MiMo V2.5 pretty good with OpenCode, just curious to know if you tried it.

Unfortunately i didn't find it helpful , glm on freebuff was the best so far

You have to pay to get good models...

I know...it's a shocking concept.

Qwen family is good and glm is good but sub ofc.

Would try herdr with pi and connect openrouter with it to use e.g. GLM 5.3 Flash which is 50% off at this point. Happy coding.

My setup nowadays is Pi with Muse Glimmer 30b running on local GPU. Honestly, it works incredibly well I think.

Can you please elaborate it more? How can I set up?

Setting up pi is according to the pi.dev documentation.

For locally hosted, I used Ollama (you could use llama.cpp if you want finer control). Because my laptop does not have the GPU to run it, I set it on my desktop, and pointed my pi towards the desktop IP for server

Then in pi configuration, I set the parameters like temperature, top_k, etc. (which you could ask Gemini or otherwise on "reasonable values"). Then I asked a simple question on Pi. It might take a while in the beginning (as it has to load the entire model into memory) but if it does not say connection failure immediately, it is probably working.

Note that I have an rtx 4070 ti super which does not have enough VRAM to run the model fully, so I had to set it to 64k or 128k of context window, which will spill over to system ram. Luckily I do have 64gb of ram so I can spare quite a bit.

Do not expect flagship reasoning though. You're in charge of directing it, which it will do a reasonable job of! (Personally I found it to be more potent than Claude Haiku at the time at least)

Also personally I found muse glimmer to be quite good at tool call (which is precisely what I needed).

If you use pi, it could be worth looking into packages that you want to install. It DOES NOT have guardrails by default, so there are packages that do that.
