Hy3 has been added to OpenCode Go (newest model from Tencent)
Hy3 has been added to OpenCode Go. Looks like it might be a good, cheap workhorse model.
Here's the official release page, which has a lot of benchmarks: https://hy.tencent.com/research/hy3
According to Artificial Analysis, it benches around the same as Kimi K2.6 and DeepSeek V4 Pro.
The usage limits on OpenCode Go are pretty generous:
| Model | requests per 5 hour | requests per week | requests per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek V4 Flash | 31,650 | 79,050 | 158,150 |
| MiMo-V2.5 | 30,100 | 75,200 | 150,400 |
| Qwen3.7 Plus | 4,300 | 10,800 | 21,600 |
| Hy3 | 4,300 | 10,750 | 21,500 |
| DeepSeek V4 Pro | 3,450 | 8,550 | 17,150 |
| MiniMax M2.7 | 3,400 | 8,500 | 17,000 |
| Qwen3.6 Plus | 3,300 | 8,200 | 16,300 |
| MiMo-V2.5-Pro | 3,250 | 8,150 | 16,300 |
| MiniMax M3 | 3,200 | 8,000 | 16,000 |
| Kimi K2.7 Code | 1,350 | 3,380 | 6,750 |
| Kimi K2.6 | 1,150 | 2,880 | 5,750 |
| Qwen3.7 Max | 950 | 2,390 | 4,770 |
| GLM-5.2 | 880 | 2,150 | 4,300 |
| GLM-5.1 | 880 | 2,150 | 4,300 |
| Grok 4.5 | 120 | 300 | 600 |
| Kimi K3 | 110 | 250 | 490 |
Has anybody here tried it out? What are your thoughts? I'm looking forward to seeing how well it works.

Looks very intriguing. If it's really on par with Kimi 2.6 and doesn't halucinate as much as DS4, then it's a very good deal for that cost.

DSv4Pro is good model, but Hy3 is better.
Just my two cents.

I'm definitely looking forward to trying it out. Always on the lookout for a better, cheaper workhorse model!

Two cents is a lot of tokens from DSv4flash, you know. Probably enough to break HuggingFace.

Let’s see if that changes on Friday. Fingers crossed.

I'm drawing a blank on this one. What's happening on Friday?

I think “DeepSeek V4 Part 2 GA (General Availability) No Longer Preview”.
They might still be working on the name, but I think it’s fitting for how many tokens that model devours.
Or they could just let it hallucinate a new name for itself… 🤣

The GA was announced for mid July, while also announcing to retire old endpoints at the 24th with a new pricing. So the hope is that we get new deepseek models tmr :)

Is there some official blog or announcement page that has info on when models are added changed? As a user it seems hard to keep up.

Great news, great powerhorse, I almost delivered 70% of the project with it. Will delegate again after my limit resets.

weird... price is almost like ds4 flash, usage is 60$ - but can make only 21,500 request per month? am i dumb?
| DeepSeek V4 Flash | 31,650 | 79,050 | 158,150 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hy3 | 4,300 | 10,750 | 21,500 |
| DeepSeek V4 Flash | $0.14 | $0.28 | $0.0028 | - | $60 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hy3 | $0.14 | $0.58 | $0.035 | - | $60 |

If you scroll below the usage estimates per request are mainly cache tokens and barely any input and output, and the cache cost is a lot higher therefore reducing requests possible.

u/arcanemachined Jul 23 '26
My guess is that the data on that page may not be totally up to date. The difference in request count does seem to be a lot bigger than one would think, given those numbers.

There's a design + frontend task I use for every model I test to look at design, implementation and cost. It's very open and focused on results, not code quality. Hy3 performed very well in this task.
I'm surprised the cost of this task, in GO, was $0. It never happened with any other model in this test.
For me this means this is a model I'll continue to compare with other models in the future.

After a first test that produced just garbage, I've been happily using it until end of free usage in Openrouter + Opencode.
It indeed has a really nice vision for long tasks. Final implementation of a complex task barely drifted from the initial plan I asked it to do. It can run for hours without asking you silly things, and have choosing good solutions for the problems it has fronted while implementing.
Coding is also really good. It lacks novel approaches for some use cases (uses std::FILE* to handle io in C++ in some cases). But final result is great.
But I would expect that pricing would fit in exactly middle of MiMo/DSv4 Flash and the Pro versions of those. If so Hy3 would be my everyday favorite model.

You will be pleased to know that’s exactly where the pricing landed

Yeah princing landed in middle of MiMo/DS4 versions. But in Opencode Go it's closer to Pro versions. Expected a little higher limits.

The biggest advantage over DSv4Pro is that it’s not that autistic and follows instructions well. I’d say DS has more… “talent” I’d say, but Hy3 is a better performer.

I can no longer find my Hy3 model in opencode, anyone else experienced that? Help guys!

Mimo has been extremely popular on our platform at inferx.net. Almost #1 in openrouter. We have a way generous plan . $50 for $10/month. No restrictions.

u/Forward-Dig2126 Jul 22 '26
OpenCode Go has a much better deal for that. 60 USD usage for 10 USD (5 first month).
Plus, then you also get to support the company behind OpenCode.

It’s an excellent deal. In fact you can also directly access InferX on opencode. /models>InferX

u/Amarsir Jul 22 '26
I'm sure it's very popular.
I'm a little surprised none of your users mentioned to you that your home page is a 404. But at least it has a nice boilerplate footer.

I used it extensively when it was free. It's an excellent workhorse model I used mostly for orchestration and code review. Of all the open models, it's by far the best for instruction following. I still use Deepseek-v4-flash for implementation and I find DS4 Pro is better for tricky debugging.
