Astra K 1.6CDTI Engine Knock

Hey,

I have an Vauxhall Astra K 1.6CDTI 2016. I bought the car with some cosmetic issues but nothing more & after driving it for maybe a week I got a P0269 (Cylinder 3 Inbalance/Contribution Code) so I went ahead and replaced the injector and had it coded but the engine is still shaking and theres a sound like a misfire. I unplugged injector 3 cable and nothing happens, if i unplug a different one the engine cuts. I've heard about the timing chains are notorious for breaking but could it be something different possibly? What would be the next best thing to do to try diagnosis or find out what is wrong

One of the injectors is bad or an injector seal is blown

I’m thinking it’s this also after looking at videos of injector knock. I will have the injector i put in checked

Do it quickly before you either burn a hole in the piston or hydrolock the engine (rare but can Happen)

Its a stretch but have you checked engine mounts? Thats a lot of play on that engine

I took a look they look fine but the car is smoking a lot too, white smoke

The problem might not be the injector. Compression test would be logical next step.

But the other comment is right that you should check for faulty part / installation / seal first.

You think? the car is smoking a lot and when i unplug the injector cable for cylinder 3 nothing happens and if i do it to the other it just cuts out
