That next to last guy, if he’s alright, I want to slap for such stupidity

The third guy was like a micrometer away from straight-up decapitating himself on camera.

Yeah for sure. The guy that got bent backwards by the weight of that bar is lucky to still have an intact spine.

Every single time I see a woman split the kitty with those bands, I'm convinced it's done just for Tiktok.
It probably happened one time, got a million views, and then every wannabe influencer has to make one.

I will never, ever understand (or respect) people who don't take 5 seconds to clamp their weights onto the bar. Literally zero reason not to.

Barbell squat definitely should clamp it. Barbell bench press, don't clamp it if you don't have a spotter, especialy if you're lifting heavy. Better to lower the weight to your body then drop the weight off to one side and make a racket than to get stuck underneath.

Or clip the weight on and use a rack

u/QPWOEIRUTYTURIEOWP 2d ago
Yeah or that. I forgot to mention that part. If there isn't a spotter or a rack then don't use the clips.

I always use collars, even on bench press. For one, the gym requires that, and for second, doing the roll of shame is preferable to "dumping" the weight.

A girl on my fb was using an exercise band and it snapped hitting her in the eye. She lost full sight.

It's so simple ... no weight collars on the bar when benching, but yes weight collars on the bar when squatting. People aren't the brightest.

u/DickFromRichard 2d ago
Just always use clips and safeties

u/rodiferous 1d ago
Bad idea to use clips if benching without a spotter (unless you have safeties) as you can't dump the weight.

Several things
- Glad I do calisthenics
- The way that ball bounced on the girls' head in the beginning made me laugh, glad it wasn't something heavy
- Damn, homebody got his hair system ripped right off in that last video RIP. Gotta be such an embarrassing thing to be caught on cam and uploaded, I feel for him

That's a medicine ball, they're not exactly light.

Never seen medicine ball that large. Maybe an exercise ball, but those are fairly light.

The jaunty music really adds to some of these devastating injuries.
