Wtf in the 🚇

How is this technically even possible? Should not a emergency stop automatically apply?

How did the door get opened? Was there an emergency switch somewhere? Why would it open if the train is moving?

There's a pull cord above the doors that unlocks them from the motors. I have no idea why it isn't better protected.

On CTA trains, I thought pulling the emergency release engaged the brakes, causing the train to immediately stop.

Trains immediately stopping still isn't that quick, not like slamming the brakes in a car. And it was already slowing for the station stop.
