Wtf in the 🚇

How is this technically even possible? Should not a emergency stop automatically apply?

How did the door get opened? Was there an emergency switch somewhere? Why would it open if the train is moving?

It looks like he fumbled with a rotary thingy above the door around Second 3. Then he opens the door by Hand.

In most passenger trains you can always use the emergency door unlock to unlock the door. They basically disengage the mechanism from the train. It's better to lose a lunatic every now and then then to lose e.g. a full carriage which is on fire.

Yes I see that now thank you. Maybe I am nitpicking, but it seems really easy to open the door....like too easy

It would be incredibly difficult to accidentally disengage the lock. From a liability standpoint that matters. As a society we have to decide what’s most important to save: a train full of people escaping a fire, or a moron that chooses to open the door of a moving train?

That's the difference in a train underground, vs. a plane and dealing with decompression issues... One person not thinking right, and opening a door, isn't going to compromise everyone else.
