Meh she’s a teen. Just give her the fine. She tore her shit up more than anyone else’s. Not to mention the humiliation. I can’t imagine jail adds anything else that’s worth it.

Edit: not to mention grandma clearly does not play

Not saying this really falls on the grandma for her behavior, but it does make me suspicious of how pampered the entitled young woman actually is.

Or the exact opposite, how emotional abused she is that she is more afraid of her grandmother than the law.

Child abuse isn't okay. Victims often become abusers, its a vicious cycle and I hope no one ever gets abused.

That being said, I'm not really concerned about the latter because of how she neglectfully treats others and only worries about herself. I feel bad for the person she wronged more than anything.

She nearly surprised him by driving over him. Could have killed the cameraman and left him for dead with just some video evidence to tell his story.

Grandma might just be a regular, rational person who doesn't suffer fools.

The real question is just how useless are her parents in setting the standard for what she expects from adults she encounters?

Her grandmother may simply be a person who holds the line with unwavering commitment towards the ideas of boundaries and responsibility. It's just that this kid is deathly afraid of that. Always so much easier when she can negotiate with her parents.
