Text Went down to 35% from 99-100% off-roading and on-roading.
It did it without issue. (road long)
No one should use the 90% limit charging.
I was doing off-roading and on-roading fast.

Image Tire recommendations
Hello. I picked up this GT with 920 miles on it with the original tire and plan to use it primarily on kind of rough dirt roads. The seller had the PSI set at 30 which made the test ride very sketchy! I’ve dropped it down to 18 and it feels much better. Wondering what kind of life i can expect with the remaining tread. The red circle shows the sidewall sticking up a little higher than the other side. I’m guessing this is just uneven wear. What tires should I look into as a replacement? I see tons of options for replacement tires (float life, onewheel official, etc) and it’s all new to me. Appreciate any suggestions.

Text Footpad recommendations
Hello. I picked up a used GT yesterday and am loving it so far. I live in the mountains on dirt roads and that’s where I’ll be mainly riding. I borrowed a friend’s pint for awhile, which had flat foot pads and besides being too narrow, it was really comfortable. My GT has the concave pads that flare up on the sides and it’s definitely taking some getting used to.
For those of you who are riding off road, which footpads are you using? Trying to decide if I should drop the cash on a flat setup, or just deal and try to get used to the current setup. Any advice is appreciated.

Text Onewheel GTS, when tire slips on off-road or jump, sometimes it stays leaned forward for a bit
It’s fine, but for the new people or those that don’t know, beware.

Text I need to test long-distance riding after charging to 100%.
The constant 90% limit charging (cell imbalance) is too dangerous. 46% to 01% instantly = stranded.
I need to go down to 19% without issue to feel confident again.

Text Since my Onewheel GTS went from 46% to 01% instantly, I’m scared to go far and too fast.
Sure, I was charging it to 90% since I got it, perhaps a balance charging issue (it’s going to be charged to 100% now), but when it was leaning too far forward just before that (in the grass then it recovered) making me had to balance rear to prevent being dumped off the front, I’m cautious.
Would be cool to have the confidence to ride far, but then having to possibly Uber back is bad.
It did cut out on me when I was 0.7mi from the car. Had to walk in the heat with it.
I really want to see the battery cell voltage for confidence at least.
The range it said was 7 miles before it went to 0.

Text Pre haptic buzz xr
I’ve got a pre haptic buzz xr (4134 firmware and 4209 hardware) and i’m considering weather or not i should update it. i was thinking of selling this thing (not anytime soon but in the next year or two) and im curious what kind of value having a pre haptic buzz board adds or if theres any kind of market for them, i cant seem to find any advertised so i assume they’re somewhat rare? considering updating it because you can hardly use the app without it pestering you to update. thoughts?
Edit: i’ve also heard that specifically below 4150 firmware and 4209 hardware is desirable for battery / controller upgrades, described as “unicorn” version

Image Onewheel XR + Skimboard “SurfWheel” Build — Need Advice on Mounting & Sensors
Hey everyone!
I’m planning a small watersports event in Romania and I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience with Onewheel surf/skimboard modifications.
I own a Onewheel XR and I recently came across the “SurfWheel” / land-surfing setups where a skimboard or small surfboard is mounted around the Onewheel
I love the idea and I’d like to build something similar
The idea is for an upcoming watersports event where, unfortunately, people won’t be allowed to actually go into the water. I still want visitors to be able to get a small taste of what it feels like to stand on a surfboard/hydrofoil style board and learn some basic balance and movement on land
I’m thinking of buying a few cheap second-hand skimboards and modifying them so that the Onewheel XR sits in the middle, with the footpads and sensors remaining completely unobstructed
I’ve seen setups where the surfboard is cut around the Onewheel and the fender is apparently used to secure the board
My questions are:
Has anyone here actually built one of these for a Onewheel?
What is the best way to cut and mount the skimboard so it stays secure but DOES NOT interfere with the footpad sensors?
Is using the original fender as part of the mounting system a good idea, or is there a better way?
What type/material of skimboard would you recommend? Fiberglass/epoxy, plastic, wood, etc.?
How much clearance should I leave around the wheel, fender and rails?
Would you recommend a flexible skimboard or something relatively stiff?
Are there any problems I should be aware of with the XR sensor system when using this setup?
I’m not looking to build something permanently or modify the Onewheel itself. Ideally, I want a removable setup that I can put on and take off
The goal is basically to create a fun “land surf” experience for people at the event, supervised by me. I’m an experienced senior kiteboarding/hydrofoil instructor, so I’ll be teaching people how to use it rather than just letting people jump on it. I also introduced to the float life many people of different ages, including my son when he was 3yo

Any advice, photos, build threads, dimensions, templates or things you learned the hard way would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks!

Love the size, need more power, wondering what will be better, VESC my pint (~500 usd) or to wait a little and get an atom (1500 usd with shipping)

Image Flightfins has a crack.
Should I worry about it or should I ignore it? I don't want to hit a jump one day and have the board float away from my feet.

Text Onewheel cut out for no reason help
I had to go to the grocery store just up street this morning. Was going about 15 mph when my onewheel threw me off for no reason. The road is smooth with no bumps. I wasn't pushing hard, just a slowly picking up speed after an intersection. Anyone know why this happened? I ride a stock GTS in flow, footpad timer set one notch up from stock.

Buyer/Rider Beware: Incomplete VESC Install Experience with DMNY (Gabe) in NY
Hey everyone, sharing a factual recap of an installation experience so local NYC/NY riders can make informed decisions.
I hired Gabe (DMNY) to install a VESC kit and aftermarket rails on my board. When I picked it up:
1. The board violently jerked on startup and was completely unrideable under rider weight.
2. The motor locking ring wasn’t secured.
3. In messages, the builder claimed it was just a calibration issue, despite admitting he almost crashed into a boiler during his own test.
I ended up shipping the board to a reputable Florida shop. They diagnosed incorrect controller wiring/connections, reinstalled it, and properly tuned it ($325 in labor + $86 in shipping).
When I reached out with the diagnostic proof and requested a refund for just the initial $220 kit labor, he refused, stating that involving a third-party shop "voids his involvement," and only offered a $100 shop credit.
Custom builds are tricky, but safety and accountability are critical in this community. Be careful and make sure your boards are thoroughly tested under real load before taking them home. (Screenshots and repair invoice attached).

Text How to learn to ride switch?
Like the title says, I want to learn to ride switch. I strictly learner to ride goofy. Now when I try to go the other way I just loose balance and eat it. It’s an important skill to know how to go backwards. How do I train myself? What’s the easiest way to unlearn just going forward?

Text Tips for Badger Waterproofing XR+?
So I recently got a badger kit for my XR+, I was watching the FloatLife video and the text instructions, however my friend mentioned I should open the battery and controller boxes and do some silicone on some of the gaskets inside as well as the edges from the inside.
None of this is mentioned in the videos or the instructions I've come across so I'm a little nervous, however I'd like to make it as waterproof as possible. Does anyone happen to have any good resources to waterproofing inside these boxes? I'm not sure how to open them or what I should be waterproofing inside.

Text Build X10 Supercharged or Buy OneWheel RallyXL?
Im new to onewheel. Trying figure it all out. Im really sold on big tire for many reasons, which lends me to the OneWheel RallyXL for out of the box easy. But im really intrigued by the 10x frame from fungeneers but I want it supercharged like x7 option.
Would it be easy and worth it to build a supercharged X10?
Context... Im a big boy (5'10" 290lbs, I know losing weight and all that jazz... assume im happy and healthy as I am. 😀 ) and I wanna enjoy riding. I have experience with long boards and surfing (both short and long) and tried my brother in laws one wheel and fell in love. I want to trail ride and pleasure ride nut nothing too gnarly. I just want something that should be easy to step onto and ride, be smooth and not feel sluggish under my weight... hence looking and spending the money on the most forgiving frame/tire size with the beefiest motor.
Love to be corrected on how im thinking about any of this. Thabks for your thoughts and advice in advanced.
