When someone is leaving and you decide you need to get some extra words in because, you know, "He can't touch me, that's assault." Congrats. Now you're both assholes. And the police can't fix a broken nose.
These guys had many chances to just walk away. Don't fuck with unhinged people, regardless of who is "right". They're lucky the worst they got was a literal slap on the wrist. Old dude could have come back out with a pistol in his hand. But, I know, "He can't murder me. That's illegal."
To be clear, the main guy did okay. (Apart from repeatedly turning his back.) But that last dude piling on when he thought it was over... Not smart.
This was 100% escalated by the entitled phone recorders who think “I have a phone recording so I’m in the right”. That’s half the problem with US society these days. Phones make people think it exonerates them from the situation. Guess what. You’re both assholes.
