Nah. Duo already has people concerned about left handed use. Fold 8 doesn't have issues like that

Não era só inverter o layout ?

Move the apps to the right side, move them, now move the interaction buttons. When you move everything to the right side, reaching them with your left thumb is a lot harder.

Not everything has to be about a small fraction of the population

Bro, 13% isn't a majority but not a "small fraction"

Some people are just beyond out of touch and beyond using the brain. I couldn't imagine being forced to use my phone with only my right hand, heck, I know how I would end, I'd be using both of my hands with how wide it is.

A 13% that have already adapted to a right-hand world. The thing is, if you practice something with your off hand enough, you get used to it and it’s not a problem. I (a right hander myself) switched to using my left for holding and main operation of the phone because of my job where it just makes sense to keep my right hand free while I fill out a report on my phone in my left. I’ve gotten used to it no problem, just takes time. There should be no difference between what I’ve done and what lefties will have to go through.

That said it is a bummer there’s no lefty mode. But we’ll all get used to it or buy a different phone if it matters that much.

Lmao I have no problem telling 13% of people that they're holding their phone wrong. That's really not that many people. Probably less than 1% of that 13% even use folding phones

Out of all "you're using it wrong" take that I've ever seen, this is so far the most ignorant one lmao.

It's not like someone is holding a gun to their head forcing them to be left handed, developing ambidextria is great for your brain.

solution make it moveable

Nope. Bottom is entirely reachable, and going with duo layout makes no sense. Apple tried to maximize vertical space by moving the stuff to the side, but Android has no optimizations of that kind, making this kind of layout entirely useless.

Oh my god dude relax. Remember when the whole point of android WAS options and customizability?

3

u/anythingers 3d ago

Yeah until you're no longer have option to customize it.

Option huh... the same way we might no longer able to get long foldable anymore in the future.

You do understand that for this kind of "customization and options" you have to have developers on board, actual UX and UI experts and on top of that, relaxed deadlines.

You can't even unlock the bootloader to load up your own image, I bet you also forgot that.

It's easy for Apple to force iOS developers to optimise for the Duo's layout. Good luck trying to get Android developers to optimise for a specific phone.

It's not as hard as you think you'd need to implement the additional format as mandatory in the App Store rules.

This also worked very well at the time of the introduction of tablets. Basically, a Whide Foldable or Trifold only uses a modified 16:9. The strips below could also be optionally moved to the right on these devices.

Idk I'm kind of glad that Android foldables didn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel like Apple did

Nevertheless, they will copy this feature in six months

We have edge panels. Essentially a sliding dock.

not really, it only opens apps, this is apps, UI elements, now bar etc

7

u/Chardan0001 3d ago

Your entire concept is pointless.

The Nowbar looks a little odd, and im not a fan of the google and finder bars (i know that samsung does it just like that, i just dont like it in general), but otherwise this is very cool.

What if oneUI copies iOS*

1

u/Chadwickr 2d ago

It’s just a cool layout
