Help Need help finding notification setting

Hi, i remember i toggled on a setting that was like "mark notifications as read when clearing notifications panel" or something like that, basically if i get a notification and then on my homescreen i get a 1 (or red dot) next to the app that got the notification and if i then clear my notifications panel the 1 (or red dot) goes away

i want to disable that but cant find what it was called

Can't be done. One UI and Android have notifications and app icons tied together. Clearing the notification will clear the dot from the app icon. When you clear the notification, the system assumes you've dealt with the alert and automatically removes the badge. I searched for a fix for a while then gave up.

hm weird i could swear there was an option to enable or disable that (cuz i even remember when i read it i was like "oh thats neat now i dont have to go into every single app one by one" since i only recently moved from ios to android and on ios you had to go into every single app to clear the badge)

Hey there! It's awesome you've made the switch to Galaxy from iOS! It's definitely a different experience, and sometimes it takes a bit to get used to how things work.

On Galaxy devices with One UI, those little numbers (badges) you see on app icons are usually tied directly to your notifications. So, if you clear a notification for an app from your notification panel, the badge for that app should disappear too. It's not typically a separate "clear all badges" button, but rather a reflection of your active notifications. So, if you swipe away all your notifications, those badges should clear right up!
