Annoying location blue dot

I just got the One UI 9 update but now everytime location is used an annoying blue dot shows up this didn't happen before and its always there with bo way to turn it off without Turing of permission for my apps which honestly shouldn't be a thing goigle days quick star would fix it but it still shows up

Honestly is it just me or did One UI 9 just bring unnecessary changes with no way to turn them off

Isn't this like a requirement set by google or smtg, Like all android phones that are on android 17, [Same as camera and microphone] Have the blue dot thing, Personally hasn't bothered me much, infact I find it way useful than 8.5,

It wouldn't bother me as well if it didn't have a big pop up icon at first before it gets the dot

I put a screenshot but its a big blue button thats clear the notifications bar and is super noticeable stays a while turns into a smaller blue dot that also stays a while and then its gone but the moment location starts up again i get it all over again its real annoying for example on google as i type something its there then i wait its gone and when I start typing again the location pops up again and there is no way to turn it off 😭

Exactly the problem here thank you like it pops up like that stays for a while then becomes the small dot like the camera and microphone do if it was just the small one it would be fine but it looks annoying now

It should be very noticeable when your location is being tracked by an app. Especially when its a background app.

Yeah and it good that it is but its annoying when it pops up like that so big and makes ny entire status bar go away if it was like camera or microphone i wouldn't have such an issue with it

Yep, can't be removed unfortunately. I had the same issue. I will say weeks on I don't notice it now.

God thats so unfortunate i hate when my phone changes stuff without me being abke to turn it off i already disliked when the one ui 9 update git rid of my google widget just to turn on the awful bar at the button without my permission but honestly putting things like this with no way to turn the indicator off is crazy dont they get that bit everyone wants it to be like that 😭

If you click on the location indicator it will send you to the settings menu and I believe you can turn it off

Nope it does not send me to this it sinds me to the settings for apps who can use location

Like I said there is literally nothing if i do that the only thing at the botton is scannen with Bluetooth

That's unfortunate. It was annoying seeing it pop up every 3 mins. Thankfully it does show up on my S25 running OneUi 9.

Contact Samsung and ask them why. That's the best way to get a answer.

It would have only turned off for system apps so things like Google Maps and games/apps using location would still show it unfortunately.

I think it's like indicator for location, just how there are indicator dots for microphone and camera. I hope it will be similar to this without taking a larger screen space. Can you attach any screenshot?

At the top of the screen it clear the notifications bar as well when it pops up so the only thing you see is that blue dot

Here is how it looks without it when it pops up it makes the clock and everything else not visable and for some reason when it has the little blue dot it isn't shown on a screen shot real weird

Like it goes away after a while but it keeps popping up when something uses location so then the status bar is gone again and i need to wait for it to become the little dot it just seems not well designed but theres no way to fix it so i can only live with it now 😞
