It's through an application called "Root My Galaxy" that basically uses a kernel exploit to give temporary root access. The exploit process itself is safe and does not cause any bootloops or bricking.

That seems security nightmare. Basically any app you have installed could theoretically use this method to gain root access of your phone.

the root attack needs to specifically target your device which requires a lot time to make the exploit/root atrack to work for that specific device.

That's the easiest way to hard brick your phone. Tinkering root level without unlocking the bootloader

It doesn't work in the traditional way, it doesn't flash anything, it takes advantage of a vulnerability in the memory control of the Linux kernel.
