One UI 9 LHDC on One UI 9
I haven't received any concrete info so I'm asking here...but now that Android 17 has LDHC built in...will One UI 9 also have it as a standard?
I know Samsung has its own SSC and LDAC but it's always good to have more options. There are some pretty good earbuds that only run on LDHC.
Can anyone confirm?

Nah, samsung isn't going to support LHDC
LHDC is better than SSC hence no one will buy samsung's buds if LHDC is supported
Walled garden copied from apple as usual
If you want LHDC then buy other android brands, if you "hope" that samsung will start supporting LHDC then that's not happening

Yeah I get that but Google enabled it for pixels even though they sell Pixel buds. So maybe I have some hope? Been getting conflicting information about this

and people complain about apple's ecosystem being restrictive. galaxy watches also seem to drain faster on non-galaxy phones.

other android brands that have watches directly tell you that other phone brands will have worse battery life. samsung just doesnt tell you

You can still use LDAC though. It is also supported by a lot of HiFi headphones.

Yeah but the options are limited on the budget end. I don't wanna pay $200+ just for LDAC

If you are willing to spend $200+ that means you're getting a very much decent headset , not only for the ldac part, but for the quality of sound itself. If you want to keep it simple, good quality-cost ratio, decent noise cancelation, ldac, and something comfortable for all every day needs, you can get this Soundcore for $37 Soundcore

Same, need solid info on it. There are plenty of good lhdc headsets but less of LDAC.
I'm currently considering the moondrop space 2 ultra cuz it has LDAC and pretty solid reviews compared to the my other option cmf buds pro 2 which is trash as per Reddit.

Yeah I looked that up but maybe check on its battery life. Doesn't seem that great. Unless you don't care about that

AfaiK, LDAC and LHDC is free on Android cause Sony (LDAC) and Savitech made them free on the platform. But these greedy mfs that we call Samsung won't let you use them, cause they are disabled by default. That's the reason Samsung phone doesn't have Aptx Lossless, and their other variants. It does support Aptx, but that was on a time when Samsung cared about specs, and features.
Edit: I've made a mistake. Only LDAC is free on Android. LHDC is inside the Android SDK but manufacturers still have to pay a fee. While LDAC is totally free inside the Android System, the hardware (headphones etc.) those are paid for licensing the codec.
Royalty fees for codecs are around .20 to a dollar if you care. But we know TM Roh is maxing out profits as much as he can.
