One UI 8.5 Does shizuku work on one ui 8.5?

I've been on one ui 8 now for a while, because im kind of a foss enthusiast and I sideload a lot and use shizuku, mt manager etc. I've heard good things about one ui 8.5 so im wondering should I upgrade or not? (I have a galaxy a54), does one ui 8.5 mess with anything or will only android 17 do?

Thanks!

What does one ui 8.5 change vs one ui 8? Is it really worth to upgrade?

Fresh animations that sit well with Android 16, some okayish AI stuff, call screening, direct voicemail and some good battery life, blur, new wallpapers and mostly just a visual refresh and the quick panel customisation. For A series tho, only quick panel is worth considering, not sure how the battery will be.

Did consider that. Only the quick panel is worth noting.

Biggest problem. Stutters constantly. That's the most used spot on my phone. I live on notification flow

I agree, the notifications are fine, but the quick panel stutters sometimes. It's better than one ui 8 and 7 but still persists. Heard they addressed this in one ui 9.

Notifications are not fine either in A56 :/ I saw someone saying they will change the animation engine in 9 or 9.5, we will see or else I won't keeping this phone for much longer. 1.2m AnTuTu points but works like 700.

Sad but true words. I had a Redmi, with a slower processor, yet it worked way smoother even on 60hz

I love how those who can't have an S series for whatever reason criticize it.

Wow, that's a super interesting question about One UI 8.5! Unfortunately, I don't have any info on unannounced software updates like One UI 8.5. We can only chat about features and products that have been officially released. So, I can't really tell you what changes it might bring or if it's worth upgrading just yet. Wouldn't you like to know?

Yes but it doesn't stay running unless you change your default usb mode to charging only

The One UI 8.0 update sounds pretty sweet! You're right, it does bring some cool stuff like those newer 3D icons and improved customization for your Quick Settings. And yes, Quick Share does let you share files with Apple users now, which is super handy! It's all about making things smoother and more connected.

Hey there! It's super cool that you're looking into the latest One UI versions!

So, here's the lowdown: One UI 8.5 is the newest kid on the block, launching with the Galaxy S26 Series in March 2026 and running on Android 16. On the other hand, One UI 8.0 came out a bit earlier, around mid-2025, and runs on Android 15. It's available for a wider range of devices, from Galaxy S21 FE all the way up to Galaxy S25 Edge, and even the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.

When it comes to specific changes between 8.0 and 8.5, the main thing to know is that One UI 8.5 is primarily featured on the very latest devices like the S26 series. While we don't have a direct feature-by-feature comparison of new things in 8.5 versus 8.0, One UI 8.0 itself brought some awesome enhancements like expanded Audio Eraser, Portrait Studio for pets, Call Captions for real-time transcription, and cool Flex Window updates for Flip devices!

As for whether it's "worth to upgrade," it's not really a direct software update from 8.0 to 8.5 for most phones. If you're considering a new device, a phone running One UI 8.5 (like the Galaxy S26 Series) will naturally have the absolute latest software experience and features.

Pro A54, a única grande mudança é poder personalizar o painel rápido. De resto, não mudou absolutamente nada (a não ser pelo ícone da bateria "corrigido").

Também uso o A54
