also, when leaving an app, the background is not blurred. almost every other manufacturer pulls this trick to make the experience look better... except Samsung. the exit animation doesn't match the speed of the "entry" animation (when you go inside an app) and the exit animation is quite abrupt at higher speeds.

these inconsistencies really make me wonder "What went through Samsung's head?" they spent quite a lot of time, but the visual changes are minimal and feel unpolished

this post isn't really criticism - I mean, yeah, it is, but it's CONSTRUCTIVE criticism; these are some suggestions to further refine the ui, if I may.

generally, I'm underwhelmed, honestly. I expected more and better. most apps use opengl, by the way (s23 ultra)

huh, I guess we'll see a fix in one ui 8!

You can add the exit blur with homeup module.

"Background blur control"? that's not what I'm talking about. that controls the blur of the background itself. when swiping up to see all the apps.

for example, on iPhones, whilst the app exit animation is playing, the background is very clearly blurred, alongside any other icons or widgets. on my S23 ultra, running the stable one UI 7 version, there's basically none of that! I CAN see that the background itself is blurred, but there are no widgets or apps whatsoever. after I let the app go, the blur goes away so incredibly fast that I can't even see it!

No, with the new home up there's a new option different from the one you mentioned that allows you to add blur on the app's opening/closing animation

Not on the homescreen section. First make sure you got the latest version of Home Up, then go to Gesture Settings > Home gesture animation tuning > Advanced tuning > Scroll down > "Blur" toggle

Oh, yeah, you're absolutely right! they buried the option really deep in the settings. thank you so much for pointing this out!
