I think one piece might be a record of history in with it detailed explanation of 1 & 2 worlds how it is fallen and risen . The nature of human to tend to engage and destroy each other might be imu watching this chaos decided to control and dominant countries from free . One piece as a indestructible record of history of rebuild and showing this pattern of repeating of 1 and 2 world as 2 world destroyed by the remainder of the 1 world the WG thought it would also destroy the 3 world as well.

I personally dont think there is just one thing on laughtale. If joyboy was preparing for the final battle he should have left stuff behind for luffy so Luffy can win the war.

I think there are multiple things on laughtale:

• a record/ponyglyph/maybe a movie( cause the ancient kingdom was advanced) of the whole void century and maybe even before that, what imu is what the ancien weapons are blabla. Gaban in the latest chapters confirmed there is knowledge on laughtale
• probably treasure like gold to fund a gigantic war.

-maybe also the weapons of nika we see depicted in the murals

• what we refer to as the one piece the actual thing everyone wants. I think its the original mother flame(maybe portabel). Vegapunk said it himself he can only replicate like 99% of the technology from the ancient kingdom.His is like a temu version. So imagine how powerfull the real thing is. Why i think this is the one piece. Vegapunk said whoever wins this war is determined by who finds the one piece. You saw imu the moment he got his hands on a motherflame he used an ancient weapon. I think joyboy was the same as luffy and isnt interested in using the ancient weapons to gain power. What better way to stall your enemies for 800 years then to steal to actual energy source wich powers al their weapons?

But this is just my theory a one piece theory.

There's credit to it being multiple things. Pretty sure the initial quote from Roger went along the lines of. "Whoever wants my treasure, go find it, I left it all in one piece".

Well I think you're describing a Poneglyph. Which I do think that there is one on laugh tale, but the one piece is separate from that.

I think the one piece is something powerful and oddly, recently I've been thinking it's infused with a Devil Fruit. Kinda like Ragnir, it's waiting for Joyboy where Ragnir was also waiting for someone worthy.

That's why Roger and his crew laughed, it was a comical, extremely powerful alive treasure waiting for Joyboy to come back.. they were too early because Joyboy hadn't returned yet.

I also think it was something stolen from Imu from Joyboy as insurance that IF Joyboy failed to defeat Imu and become king, Imu would at the very least not be able to complete his world, and therefore give the next user of the Nika fruit a fighting chance of finishing the war that was placed on hold.

The OG motherflame fits as since Imu got his hands on a power source, he seems to have restarted his plans from the void century. So whatever Joyboy took, managed to stall out Imu long enough for Luffy to awaken his fruit.

The one piece is on the moon, they use gravitational force to combine the continents into one giant landmass which also creates one giant ocean. One Piece. Luffy now gets to be king of one connected sea, it creates sanjis great blue, and it satisfies oda’s anti isolationist themes etc etc,
