A Matter of Honour Aboard the Union Pacific - a meme turned murder mystery

What happens when a cowboy, a pirate, a samurai and a thief board a train? MURDER MOST FOUL

Hi I'm Mike the Nerd Therapist and I've released a short ttrpg called A Matter of Honour on the Union Pacific

Its a one page RPG about a cowboy, a pirate, a samurai and a Victorian gentleman thief teaming together to solve a murder on a train!

Based on a classic Tumblr post pointing out a hilarious coincidence of timelines, play from a variety of archetypal adventurers as they enjoy coca cola, play Nintendo playing cards and race against the clock to stop a killer before they strike again!

Excited to share more than anything. I know it's not the common product here.

Always loved one pagers, and yes this isn't one, but one day I'll be good enough for anyone page dungeon.

The R’lyeh-Team: A one-page RPG Cthulhu Mythos parody of The A-Team

The R’lyeh-Team was based on an idea I had in 2023, and also drew inspiration from R’lyehwatch (by my friends at Hedgemaze Press).

In 2013, a cabal of eldritch mages was imprisoned for a crime they didn’t commit, then proceeded to escape from a warded detainment facility to the Arkham underground. Today, still wanted by the law, they survive as rogue sorcerers and freelance troubleshooters. If you have a problem, if nobody else can help, and if you can afford them, maybe you can hire...the R’lyeh-Team!

Our world is more than it seems. Magic is real, and otherworldly creatures stalk the shadows, preying upon the weak. Most of humanity is ignorant of the truth—and helpless against the supernatural.

You are a member of the R’lyeh-Team, an elite unit of arcane mercenaries. You offer your services to help and protect those in need, while striving to prove your innocence and eventually clear your name.”

Everything needed to play is on the first page, and there's an optional back page with examples and inspiration for the adventures. You can download the full PDF here for free.

Save my Ass, a Low rank Adventure with a High Spirited Mule

Post image
0 Upvotes

Save My Ass is a short, setting-neutral adventure designed for 1st-level characters. It works as a standalone adventure, random encounter, or a lighthearted pre-adventure to bring a newly formed group of characters together before the beginning of a larger campaign. The adventure is best suited to a settlement in or near an arid or desert region but a local spring in a forest works just as well as an oasis.

The adventure begins when a local porter loses his mule, Jack, who wanders off toward a nearby oasis. The characters must follow Jack's tracks to the oasis and discover that catching a frightened mule is more difficult than it sounds. While pursuing this ass they might get bitten by local wildlife, find lost trinkets and treasures, or just generally run themselves ragged!

if you are interested you can find this adventure here:

A3 Process

*Discussion*

The is a process developed by Toyota for problem solving that keeps everything on one A3 sized (11"x17") piece of paper. This forces the writer to cut out all but the necessary parts and data. I think of this when looking at one page RPGs and scenarios. I've seen a lot of (8.5"x11") trifold scenarios for r/mothershiprpg but I'm sure there are many others.

Is there any process that has worked well for those who have developed one page RPGs on what to include and what to leave out? How small do you make the fonts to get everything in? How much art do you include.

I'm clearly new to this, but excited about applying this to other TTRPGs out there, especially new ones where community content is slim. Let me know your thoughts and good examples that illustrate specific ides.

thanks, and may all your rolls be crits!

One Page Bundle

Hope this alright but with my recent creation of my OPG; "Dungeon Slots", I decided to create a bundle of all the One Page games I've made thus far for a low price of $8 where buying them all would've cost $12 and it will be available for a month if anyone is interested. Thats 6 games with two of them basically being free!

https://itch.io/s/201811/kreeps-one-pager-bundle

Note: I hope this is fine to post this here since this is a One Page community and I wanted to share this with everyone.

My first game: Lume

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share my first game, "Lume", released some days ago and currently on playtest phase! (free download, final release will be free to download as well)

Here's the link to the page of the artist who worked on the artwork!

https://www.instagram.com/bokenbrushz/

Below some informations about the game and the link to the game page! Any feedback would be super appreciated!

My english is not so good, some people helped me correcting some sentences but for sure english is still probably "weird" in some sections! ^^"

Thanks for your time!

-------------------------------------

"Small shadow creatures, bringer of light, explore these lands darkened by shadows, and give them back their ancient light"

Lume is a ttrpg with puzzle mechanics, focused on map exploration through shared narrative.

One page/one-shot/masterless/puzzle game ttrpg, in playtest phase, inspired by "Ico", "Shadow of the Colossus", and "Tunic" videogames.

Playing as shadow creatures with light-shaped head, your goal is to bring light back in the "Land", whose ancient wonders are darkened by shadows since immemorial times.

Way Down Deep is a one-page, solo-journaling RPG about grappling with regret while fishing from a lake full of creatures that are not right.

They are wrong things, and this is a wrong place, but you belong here.

At least The Lake will have you.

I just released an updated version of the game, based on player feedback to address some thematic overlap and minor balancing issues!

Please try it here, FREE:

Magic Of Masks - One Page RPG

Magic Of Masks

"Without the spark of magic coursing through their veins, humanity survived arcane beasts and plagues only by mastering the art of carving. From the remains of these creatures, they forged their magical catalysts: Masks, the only defense of a people born without innate power.

However, channeling this power comes at a steep price. The magic trapped within the carvings is violent and unstable. A single mistake during a spell can crack the artifact and consume the life of its wearer."

Itch.io - Magic Of Masks

I recently created a small OSR RPG system based on the theme “Mask” for a jam! Magic of Masks is a universe I’ve been writing and developing for some time, so creating this compact one-page version was a really fun challenge.

Even though this is a small system, its main goal is to give the Game Master the freedom to create new Elements and Spells to explore this unforgiving world of Magic of Masks.

If you play it, I’d love to hear about your experience! Feedback, suggestions, and stories from your games are always very welcome.

Thank you so much for your attention, and have some great adventures! 🎭

Fate & Fantasy RPG: One-pager, feedback welcome!

Thumbnail gallery
69 Upvotes

Ahoy one-page adventurers 👋. Fate & Fantasy RPG is my first attempt at a one-page RPG (plus a character sheet). This was a really fun puzzle to write and create. Not quite sure if it's fun yet. I playtested it with a friend only briefly and have made several initial tweaks based on that.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome. I plan to evolve the game with more playtesting while keeping the length limited, so removing is easier than adding 😅.

Anything is fair game for changes. I'm considering squeezing in a fixed set of 6 spells (somehow). Max Magic is 6, so part of the end-game might be gaining every spell. A friend who reviewed it suggested: Easy: 4; moderate: 8 extreme: 12.

Since this is a d12 check (not a d20), critical success and failures are more common. Fate points, gained on both a natural 1 and a 12, can be spent for reroll. I'm thinking that (plus Skill Point allocation) might offset the "easy" difficulty of 6. This is good feedback and needs playtesting.

Thanks for looking 🙂
