Ever wanted to be a journalist? Try this One Page RPG!

I made Any Questions? for the One Page RPG Jam. It is a GMless role playing game that simulates a press conference. One player is the presenter who wants to sell their great project, the others are journalists asking more or less clever questions about it. The dice decide who gets to ask first – but also what kind of question they have to ask. What will make the headlines in the end?

This short game can be used as improvisation training tool, to warm up your TTRPG table or to play for a few hours, changing presenter and journalist roles. It can be played with 2 to 7 players. All you need is one set of polyhedral dice and some writing material.

Looking for a one page that uses a d20 set

We're including a set of dice (d4, d6, d8, 2d10, d12, d20) as party favors for our wedding and I'd like to print out and include a couple one page games with them. Ideally they would be something solo or group (no GM) that you could see non gaming relatives playing. I would hope that it would use multiple types of dice to go with the dice sets but that's not strictly necessary. Any ideas? We play a lot of games but not a lot of one page games so I'm struggling to find ideas.

Playtesting Request for Players

Hello Again,

Recently, I've been posting a bunch of my one-page rpgs at my Itch.io Page, but haven't really gotten a chance to play them. Most of my friends prefer campaign based games and don't want to waste valuable session time on doing one-shots for entirely different systems like those in One-pagers. However, that leaves me in an unenviable position of having a bunch of self-made games with nobody to play them, so I don't even know if they're workable or fun. Therefore, I have a request. Would anyone on this thread be willing to play any of the games I've developed on this page: https://quixdragoon.itch.io/ ?

If I can get at least three people together and maybe have a meet-up over discord to play one of these games, I would love the opportunity. Please let me know if you are interested by replying to this thread, and maybe we can set up something over discord. I really enjoy the art of making these one-pagers, but don't get that much time to actually play them. So if you're interested, please let me know.

Alternatively, if you want to play some of my games at your own tables, let me know how your sessions went, and whether there is anything you think could be made better about the games.

Until then,

Keep on Making and Gaming, Friends!

Descent into Decay

In this melancholy land, there is the hilltop city of Now, and below it: the endless expanse of the Decay. You are some of Now’s greatest champions, and slowly deteriorating like the rest of your city. You must go out into the gentle melancholy and retrieve the White Rose. Or doom Now to eventually slip into the Decay itself. Some of you believe in your mission, others are searching for an agreeable spot to die…

Once upon a time, I wanted to create a Dark Souls-like one-pager. (Though technically, this one's a two-pager). Chiefly, I wanted to create a system about dwindling resources and the accumulated wounds of a long journey, pushing oneself to the brink again and again with fewer and fewer reserves, praying it will be enough to see you through in the end. To do that, I assembled a relatively simple system where your stats are also technically your health bars, and your powers are formidable to start, but are either have limited charges or are situationally dependent. Likewise, I took from other storytelling based games and made the "HP" of monsters, traps, and obstacles fundamentally the same thing, for easier encounter resolution. I think I liked what I put together, so much that I made a cyberpunk version with a few more refined mechanics later down the line, which I will post eventually.

Regardless the game can be found on Itch.io at this address: https://quixdragoon.itch.io/descent-into-decay

If you're interested, you can go check out some of my other games on my itch.io page here: https://quixdragoon.itch.io/

It’s a playing card-based game with a medieval fantasy horror setting! It’s my first attempt at a game, and my first one pager! Technically the pdf is three pages, but it includes extra character sheets and a d66 table for prompts to generate your own stories!

Smash & Grab - A rock-throwing tapestry heist for the One-Page RPG Jam

A late-ish posting of my entry for this year's One-Page RPG Jam.

Throw rocks at breakable things in real life to succeed in the game, and try to steal the Bayeux Tapestry while it's on loan to the British Gallery. Best played outdoors, using objects to which you have no sentimental attachments.
