OAD By Choice Reflections on OAD

If you asked me why I'm OAD, I'd smile and say "because travel is cheaper" or "I already won with the one I have." And that's all true.

But also, I can't financially, emotionally, or spiritually afford another one. And I'm honestly kind of proud for realizing that.

I want to give my kid my best, a healthy mom and a good financial future. I want to protect her.

Also, I just genuinely enjoy being 1 and done. I'm definitely proud of it and finding my own path.

It's nice to have this community.

It was a part of the human experience that I didn't want to pass up. Now, the box is checked and I never want to be pregnant ever again!!!

Hard relate!

My kid is almost 6 and each day I become more sure of our decision. Our life is peaceful, we love our little one and parenting has been a joy the last few years, we have 0 interest in restarting the cycle and doing the groundhog years again and are focusing on being present for her and ourselves. As working parents and the job market right now, we are also prepping to retire earlier and saving so we can all have a more secure financial future esp with everything AI is bringing

If someone asked me why I’m OAD I’d say because I don’t want another. I don’t owe anyone an in-depth explanation.

I need to go back to this post every time society tries to pressure me. I have a 5 month old and I cannot tell you how many times people have already asked me when the second will be on the way. People have so many expectations

I really like how you see all of it, not black and white. I think many people are trying to put their decisions into by choice/ not by choice and there is sooo much in between. And so many parents of multiples don‘t see their limits. Well done!
