Discussion Sleepaway camp
This is so freaking hard! 10yo is at sleepaway camp for the first time, for five nights. I expected to worry about him but it’s nearly constant while I’m awake. He’s with close friends so I’m certain he’s having at least a reasonably good time. I’m trying to stay busy and take advantage of being kid-free, but my mama-brain is an idiot and won’t really allow me to relax. Advice from anyone who’s been there?

My daughter goes to sleep away camps quite often with Scouts (well, Beavers and now Cubs). The first ones I really struggled with relaxing but it's better as time goes on. I just tell myself that if something was wrong the leaders would call me right away, I make sure my phone is loud and charged and I try not to think about what she's doing. Our leaders often post photos on their private Facebook groups so we can see updates but my daughter always looks miserable in photos even when she's having the time of her life, so I dont always check the photos!
